Our expectations for Mirror’s Edge haven’t waned in the least, but we’d begun to let our excitement slide in favor of games we have in the here-and-now, rather than what we see over the horizon, no matter how near that may be. But this was before Scott shared with us a slice of his experience with the game’s time trial mode. We were truly excited for Faith’s adventure to begin with, but to know that it actually delivers on the promise of re-playability and competition renews our enthusiasm altogether.

Our enthusiasm this week for Fallout isn’t so much renewed as it is sustained. The cast still has a ragbag of ways for relating to the game, each as different as the user, and each one continually reinforced by Fallout’s unique rewards system. We don’t necessarily refer to tangible rewards, of course. Not bottlecaps or perks, but scenes and scenery and the refreshingly powerful magic of one person comparing his story to another’s; host to host, listener to podcast.

Intro music is the Warhammer theme, outro is from World of Goo.
Thanks to Ten19 for both.

It's fantastic listening to you guys' varied stories, note comparisons and misconceptions. Every few minutes I find myself fighting off the compulsion to write in to the show explaining all the things you're missing. ;)

I'm curious, for the live shows, do you actually broadcast on a frequency (that I can hear in Texas)? I could try, but I don't think my dial-up will stream the audio very well (hence why I never listen live).

Stop fighting that off! TELL ME! I want to know the cool things, too! Unless they are spoilers, of course. :)

Yes.
(that I can hear in Texas)?
No, sadly.

We're based in Montgomery, Alabama. Just drive here, grab some fast food, and sit in your car and listen. That sounds reasonable enough to me. ;)

Mirror's Edge reminds me of defrag
It's essentially first person platforming time trial in Quake 3
Great fun but horribly inaccessible!

It's about time someone made something similar, even though they probably didn't get their ideas from that.

Here's what it looks like:

(the most awesome runs start at about 7 min)

Okay, I just got ahold of the Nuts & Bolts demo, and you're cray about the text size. It's small, don't get me wrong, but it's no where near as small as Dead Rising (which I still own). I kind of want to drag my 360 into the other room to compair on my SD set, but while the main one is HD, it's 31 only inches and I can read it from across the room. Plus, you don't really need the text, you already pretty much know what to do; in Dead Rising, there were story points and objectives I had to guess at cause I couldn't read them. I'm pretty sure the menu text in GoW 2 is smaller, actually.
