As a frequenter of Today’s Big Thing, I’ve seen this South Korean boy playing guitar twice now and I finally got curious enough to check out his YouTube page. Turns out this prodigy (okay, I’m not sure what the qualifiers for that term are, but I feel fine using it here) has a whole host of songs, including a few original pieces. His acoustic covers, however, are where he really shines!

I thought I’d share some of his stuff, so I’ve posted two of my favorites below:

Tears for Fears’ Mad World:

...and Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit:

You just got yourself another subscriber, Sungah Jung! :D

How old is he?

He just turned twelve in September; he's been playing since he was nine.

Looks young though, don't he?

Awesome.

Not horrendously difficult songs, but still well done.

I'm not sure what's hard or not; I've never played guitar. However, as I said, he has a whole lot of videos on his YouTube channel and these are just my favorites, so you might want to check it out and see what he really can do. :)

Fucking amazing, considering he's only 12. If he made the arrangement for Teen Spirit then he wins.

Teen Spirit was actually the second one I heard, the first was the Pirates of the Caribbean theme:

He's way better than I'll ever be. Colour me impressed.

I love the sound of the Tears for Fears one.
