News Late to the Party.

Lately, I have noticed that topics posted in the General, Pc, Console sections like on Red Alert's missing Keys or the THQ closures. If we expect users to check for duplicate postsan the mods should as well. Maybe at a certain point(by election of the mods/ admins or a post count), let people have news submission and posting privilages, or make sure that the topics are merged or moved quickly.

You guys don't want to have a cluttered site and have a discussion on one topic split in twain.

I do check, but if a forum post is not up to our standards then I'm not putting it on the front page. In those cases I usually close up the forum post with a re-direct to a news post, but when that happens people complain as well.

If you merge a thread with a news post, any post made earlier than the news post will be bumped to the front page.
