View Full Version : Might I suggest a change to the forum description?

I have a personal hangup with descriptions that sit below forum names and other types of one-line summaries. They should be short, sweet, and to the point. The current description is a little longer then it needs to be, and perhaps confusing in terms of wording.

In-Game Chat, formerly Evil Avatar Radio (but In-Game Chat before that) - the official podcast of Colony of Gamers.

I know you guys are grateful for the opportunity when it presented, but I think you can let the EAR name go. It was In-Game Chat before, and is now In-Game Chat once again. If you still want to reference the name, don't give it more weight then it needs to get the information across.

Some suggestions:
In-Game Chat - the official podcast of Colony of Gamers.
In-Game Chat, (known briefly as Evil Avatar Radio) - the official podcast of Colony of Gamers.

I know, it is a little nit-picky over a few extra words. But that's my type of OCD. :)

I agree, and I prefer the first of your two suggestions. It's succinct, and I think by now we've given fair due to EAR.

We'll let the others weigh in, of course.

I agree with your first suggestion as well, there aren't many good feelings about EvAv from a lot of the people here anymore. We have some good memories, but that was from this community, not the site itself. COG is it's own site and needs to start to embrace that a little more.

Yeah, I think that works. You've definitely created your own thing now that's quite a bit different than EAR.

I agree entirely. Let's go for the first option. Also, let's remove the mention of EAR from the podcast feed description as well. Enough time has passed.

I will say I wrote most of the forum descriptions, but I had nothing to do with this one.

Now that you've gotten that cleared up, all that's left to do is fill out the "About the Crew" portion on the website ;)
