So you do two characters who never had a really high-quality consistent rendering (Simon, Trevor) and skip out on Richter?
Not like this game would be good with Richter in it anyways. It makes my Castlevania fanatic heart weep.

As much as I agree...the roster isn't that big.
There can only be so many whip-toting Belmonts involved.
I'm glad to see Alucard, not that it's any kind of a surprise. But he's been my favorite since Castlevania III. Symphony just sealed it.

I tell you, Richter is one of the few hidden characters. I bet there will be another generic enemy as well.

You know, for as much as I'm uninterested, the more I see the screens and video (both of which look very good), I actually want to pick this up and give it a try.

I'm starting to get a very Soul Calibur-esque feel from it.
I'm now curious how the gameplay and controls work out, the visuals are good in my book.

Looking forward to this game. I have fond memories Castlevania 3 kicking my butt. I never did beat that game. :o
I have a tiny nitpick for the good doctor, however: Maria - Castlevania: Dracula X (SNES) That was a port of the original game on the PC Engine / TG-16.

This looks better than it sounds.
Now get it out there so we can focus on that 360/PS3 game already.

But was it really a port? Yes, loosely. Maybe "remake" is a better word for it (or "retry", since it wasn't exactly an improvement on the original). My point was just that Maria debuted before the SNES game, and not that the game was an exact copy.

I love Castelvania. I love fighting games. So why am I expecting disapointment from this game?
I will agree that Richter must be in the game as an unlockable character. However, not having Soma as a main character is a bit odd. I figured that the GBA/DS games he is featured in had some pretty strong sales. Perhaps also an unlockable?

Judging from this image alone, hers looks to be one of the few character designs for the game that I actually like. :D

No problem, Doctor. :)
I actually think most, if not all of the designs look cool, like Cornell and Golem for example. Of course, this is coming from someone who enjoyed the two Nintendo 64 CastleVania titles. :p

Now, here's something interesting. I just went to look up the game on Amazon, and it had one of those things where it wouldn't show you the price unless you clicked on a special link:
http://setebos.fathomthat.org/images/colony/castlevania_judgment_amazon.jpg
Everywhere I've seen has this game retailing for $50, but a $40 budget price makes it a bit more tempting, even if it's not the Castlevania game I really want Konami to be making. ;)

Pretty sweet Amazon deal.
And I guess I really haven't been following the game, seeing as this will come[?] with online play, as I just noticed the WFC label.

Wow, that is dissapointing. Where is her hair? What is with the new dress?
...and what is with her eyes by the health bar, she never looked all doe eyed like that. She always had that sinister, head titled forward looking through the top of her eyes look.

It also seems pretty cool that they have the hearts with special weapons.
Definitely an inventive way to incorporate a classic Castlevania element. I'm not sure how it works, but I can take a few guesses.
I just want to know if I can firebomb some mofos with holy water. ;)
My favorite was always the stopwatch, but...I don't see how that could be used without being extremely cheap/game breaking. The pics above look like they're using the watches, but it can't be time-stopping without huge drawbacks.

Ugh. Why did they abandon Alucard's Symphony look? The cape, the fine clothes...it suited him.
Now he looks like a FF character appearing in Kingdom hearts. Weird, pointlessly ornate armor and platform plate-boots, his skin isn't bleach white, and he doesn't even have his flowing mane of vampire manly-locks. Sad panda. :(

They put Simon in fucking shorts. They destroyed Shanoa. Grant is completely unrecognizable; it's not the same character, and claiming such is a fucking lie.
I'd be more pissed about this if Order of Ecclesia hadn't delivered.

If it was just the clothing it wouldn't be so bad, imo. Alucard went from the elegant son of Dracula to a bad cosplay convention attendee.

I don't like it, but it's not like it would make or break a sale. I just think they should have stuck with his Symphony look.

How about the sprites from their newest game that just came out? They let some unrelated artist run crazy with their franchise, and now it all looks like shit.
BTW: There is a difference between updating a character, and just changing it completely. Grant went from a pirate in rags to a transvestite ninja. The only good thing about this is that those "Sypha is a guy" people can be told to STFU now.
