I'm having a really annoying problem with Civ 5. When I try to load up the game, I can only get as far as the screen that says "Click here to continue" right after the introduction video. After some searching online, I found other people who ran into this problem and found that it was related to the fact that I had the text in Windows 7 set to "large text" under the display settings in the Control Panel.

Once I changed that, the game runs fine. Beautifully in fact. But I have to squint to see everything else on my monitor from my desktop to programs like Quicken. With the internet this is obviously not a problem because i can just Ctrl+Wheel Mouse to increase font. But I don't want to have to change this control setting back and forth EVERYTIME I want to play Civ. So I am looking for a solution.

Things I have tried thus far:

-Disabling the second monitor.

-Updating Civ and Updating videocard drivers.

-Making sure the resolution both in Windows and in Civ are the same (1600x1920).

If anyone could offer any other possible suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Primarily it is Quicken that is the biggest problem with the small text font, but I can't find a way in the program's options to increase the text size.

I can live with the desktop text being tiny if I could just get Quicken readable. However, what i would really prefer is a way to fix the problem in Civ 5 since every other program runs perfectly fine with the "Large Text" turned on.

I played Civ 5 in windowed mode, have you tried that? It probably won't help but you never know.

Is there any way to use the keyboard, instead of the mouse, to get past the "Continue" screen? Or does large text mode mess up all of the Civ V interface?

(Have you tried moving the mouse around to see if the "Continue" link still is somewhere on the screen, just not where it should be over the text?)
