We need an actual sarcasm detector attached to each post. There could be a vote thing for each detector to show if people think it's sarcasm or not.

Though, it could get too much clutter.

I have a better idea. We write an NLP agent to detect sarcasm autonomously and tag each thread based on its findings. Any other NLP/ML people who wanna help? ;)

You guys are lucky you don't live in Sweden sarcasm and irony are completely interchangeable and just mean saying the opposite of what you mean. We could finish all our sarcastic statements with "I'm just being ironic" like here.

Thank you Rini and Scurvy...I found where the smiley got banned...along with someone else. I think one of the two should be allowed to come back...I don't think it's to hard to guess which I think deserves to be the one i'm rooting for...

I don't think dumbing down language to the point of reducing context to the pinpoint of punctuation would help anything.
