So I am uploading pics now but basically I figured everyone could post the pics of their custom characters or terrain they have made and any things they learned or mistakes they made.
I will post the pics in the OP tonight.
If you guys have anything you have done, post it I would love to see it. Also again lessons learned would be great.
My project-
A 6 foot by 8 foot castle for Heroscape, Heroquest, other mini games.
We settled on 9 towers, 4 draw bridges, 2 replacement copies that can be put in place when the good part of the castle is destroyed by a story event.
My materials-
Both acrylic and enamel paints
19 sheets of cheap paper board 1/4" deep.
400 balsa wood spears
4 cans of good quality Games Workshop Primer
2 containers of liquid enamel for lava, moat and fiery tubs of oil
30 mini's cut up to stick into Ooze to make it look like the creature aborbed past adventurers
1/4' inch wood for the base cut into 7 sections for connections
4 tubs of spackle for creating stone texture before painting as I am using paperboard and not foam for many parts of the castle.
So far I have put together the 9 towers, the fiery moat, the oil tubs that can be triggered to release oil(only in our minds) on the mini's attacking. It is 6 foot by 8 feet of marital bliss. One section is an exact copy of another but it is destroyed so when the mini's defeat a particular part we can remove the "normal set piece" and replace it with a ruined castle. And the best part...I got to build a replica and light that bitch on fire and just let it burn. Now to repaint it(the burned paint looks amazing but I need to touch up parts) and make it suitable still for moving characters around.
The dungeon includes 37 mini's I cut various body parts off of and then stuck into a barely tamed giant glob of painted gelatin to make a level 40 Creeping Ooze. It LOOKS AMAZING. Like it has bits of adventurers in it all half digested.
What are you guys working on?
