View Full Version : Damn you, Europe!

We only asked you to do ONE THING: buy Disaster: Day of Crisis. And you couldn't even be bothered to do that (http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/04/disaster-days-of-nobody-buying-it/).
A promise (http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/10/03/reggie-answers-questions-about-disaster-fatal-frame-iv/) made by Reggie Fils-Aime means that North American Disaster: Day of Crisis fans have an active interest in how the game fares in Europe. If it sells enough copies on the other side of the Atlantic, Reggie has suggested a U.S. release will be considered. Sounds fair to us. The only problem? It's selling really badly in Europe. Thanks for nothing, you loosely assembled independent group of separate nations!

Really? Did anyone expect this to sell well?
The marketing was practically nonexistent.

This game didn't look that interesting anyway. Though, if I only owned a Wii I'd be pretty pissed.

Hell, I've never even heard of it. Marketing FTW!
And yes, I realize it wasn't being marketed over here...but still. :p

When this was first revealed I, too, thought it would be great. Hadn't heard a thing about it since then, and didn't know it was out. Though I've still not grabbed a Wii, so I guess it's not too great a loss, just a shame.

The stuff I read wasn't that positive, combine it with a userbase that doens't give a fuck and your all set.
I'll bet Dead Rising, Madworld, etc all bomb too.

No more heroes didn't bomb so I wouldn't be so fast to condemn Madworld. Dead Rising may be another story..

Is this the game where the Russians invade the states ? or am i thinking of a different title?

It's probably worrying that I follow gaming news daily and this is the FIRST i've heard of the game, have not seen it in any shops in the UK (was in one Sat).
Plus stupid move if they released it in the current flood.

Did the PS2 game even sell, though? I doubt there's any way a game like this would sell really well, regardless of platform or how good the game is.

Dead Rising might bomb, but I've got faith in MadWorld. No More Heroes did pretty well, and I'm sure Sega will promote MadWorld better than UbiSoft promoted No More Heroes. MadWorld is also coming from a group of guys known for their work on action games, instead of adventure games, so I think that people are going to be pretty excited to see the final product.
