Is there any small publisher with as much street cred right now as Stardock? Galactic Civilizations & Sins of a Solar Empire had some of the best word-of-mouth marketing I've seen in a long time, and their Gamer's Bill of Rights has resonated with gamers quite a bit too. But will that warm fuzzy glow translate into sales for the title they officially announce today: Elemental: War of Magic.
Rather than another jaunt to outerspace, this time we head to a realm of swords and sorcery. Still a 4X game (eXpand, eXplore, eXploit & eXterminate, so why not call it a 4E game?) you play as the lone person able to wield magical shards left over from the last magical cataclysm. In addition to the expected multiplayer modes, the game will also feature a full single player campaign and boast robust modding tools. A public beta is planned for Q2 2009
Elemental: War of Magic is set for release in February 2010.
