By ways of Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5075734/street-fighter-iv-console-release-dated-for-japan) comes the message: February 2009. The first run of copies will include the new anime, Street Figher: Renewed Bonds, which will run for 50-60 minutes.

No date for the US, Europe or Australia as of yet, but one can hope it will not be far behind.

Are you exited yet? Me? I am quite exited. Soul Calibur 4 didn't catch on in my circle of friends, and no life is complete unless there is a beat'em up that everyone plays and competes in. SF4, please be it.

Picking this up, definently. But since I don't know a lot of people with 360s, I'm really hoping they did something decent with the netcode.

I'm pretty excited, but not as much as I would have been 4-5 years ago. I know I keep saying it, but it would also depend very heavily on me getting a fighting stick.

I'm all over this title...despite Chun Li's thunder thighs and man hands.

I think SF has been dated for a very long time...

I'm more interested in SSFIITHDR, which is rumoured to be this month. I just need that damn stick! If only it wasn't stupidly over priced.

i'm interested in SF4 which is amazing because i haven't owned a fighter since the N64/PS1 era...MKvsDC is looking ok as well...the reviews will help my decisions on both titles.

\thread revival

I know there was a thread somewhere regarding the arcade version of this game...and who has played it, but I couldn't find it.

Soooo....I finally played it :) Went to the mall last night because my girlfriend needed to do some Christmas shopping. I remembered that this mall had SF4 nearby, so I sought it out.

I haven't really played Street Fighter in the arcade since SF2 Turbo. Other than that, I've only played the SNES version to death and some Alpha on the Dreamcast. All I can say is that this game is gorgeous...and I still suck :(

At least I can feel confident that I sucked due to my own deficiencies and not due to some unknown force. It felt very good and in a short time, I was winning matches. Due to being a bit of a button masher, I only played Chun Li and E. Honda...Honda feels slower, but that could just be my poor memory.

Overall, if this translates well to the home consoles, it will definitely be worth a purchase. I may even get it for the PC and finally get that arcade joystick I always wanted :)
