The idea of this app is very cool, and it does work, just not as well as in the video (I have it installed on my iPhone). It really needs prefect conditions and you need to keep the phone/camera more or less completely still.

And it seem to just translate text word by word, not as sentences.

Google needs to buy this and hook it up to Google Translate (which is pretty decent)

Not really, unless you print and do it extremely clean.

KidCactus - are you using it on an iPhone 4 or a 3GS?

I've got it on my 3GS and would agree with all your complaints, but I also assumed that the better camera and the faster processor of the iPhone 4 would improve those problems substantially. I'd be sad to hear that isn't the case.

I do have an iPhone 4, so it's the same on both.

This is an amazing concept, but I doubt the technology for this is quite there yet.
