I'm wondering if anyone has played either the 360 or PS3 version of the Ultimate Edition. When last I played DA: O, the 360 was known for better framerates and worse textures, while the opposite was true for the PS3 version.

I've been getting a hankering to run through this again and wanted to know if anyone had first-hand knowledge if either version had been tweaked for optimal performance. Personally I love gaming on my 360 more than my PS3, but I'd also rather have pretty & stable than fugly & stable or pretty & unstable, if that makes sense. My Googling has turned up no definitive answer (most mentions refer to the original DA: O game and not this edition).

Yes, I know some of you will say PC is the way to go, but that's not an option for me.

I've only played the PS3 version, and then not that far (up to meeting Claudia Black's character for the first time), but the frame rate has been stable. The game is still pretty fugly, it's not going to win any art style awards, that's for sure, but it runs just fine.

I was actually looking into the better platform earlier this week. From what I saw there haven't been any changes to the way the games run, just the content on the disc. Safe to say whatever was true of the originals will be true now, but I don't think there was too much of a difference in the first place between the consoles.

When it first came out there was a lot of scuttlebutt about the differences, with the PS3 suffering in the fps area (http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/68/index/101922/1), and the 360 in the graphics (http://www.gamespot.com/features/6239466/index.html).

Everything I seem to have come across doesn't mention if the fps in the PS3 was improved, but I might give it a go.

I've played entirely through the game and all the DLC once, and am a good chunk through another playthrough right now on the PS3. Especially after coming off of playing the highly unstable New Vegas, I have been very pleased with the stability of Dragon Age.

I think I have run into rare moments of slowdown, but not often enough to consider it an issue.

Regular or Super Duper Ultimate Edition? Sorry, you didn't say which you were currently playing.

Sorry, it's the Super Duper Ultimate Edition. The most annoying thing about it is that all the DLC and Awakenings aren't included in the game like you'd expect, but are on the disc like they were demos. So you have to click each on individually and install them. A pain in the ass.

But once you get past that, it's more or less all good.

I'll agree that the 360 looks a bit fugly but I never had any performance issues or crashes. I did have it installed to the HDD of course. If you do already lean towards playing it on 360 then I would just go with that. Probably a case of no particularly bad choice though.

So, I haven't played the Ultimate pack, but I do have experience with most of the Dragon Age content there is on PS3. Awakenings runs very smoothly compared to Origins. I think they worked harder to optimize the engine for it or something, but as far as I know there was not patch or anything to bring Origins up to speed. The playability of Dragon Age was never challenged in my 100 or so hours of play with it through all content, however. It's just of note that Awakenings runs very noticeably better for some reason.
