From Siliconera (http://www.siliconera.com/2010/11/16/phantom-brave-the-hermuda-triangle-sails-to-north-america-in-march/): NIS America is bringing Phantom Brave Portable to North America under the name Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle.
This version of Phantom Brave includes the bonus chapter and all of the tweaks from the Wii version plus five extra characters. Hero Prinny and Unlosing Ranger are some of the cameos Nippon Ichi added to the PSP version.
Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle is slated for release this March on UMD and PlayStation Network. Europe is getting the game too, but in PAL territories its PSN only.

Did anyone here play the Wii version?

ANOTHER one of their PS2 games being ported to the PSP? Really NIS? That's almost all they seem to be good for nowadays. Let's not forget we've got Prinny 2 coming out soon as well. The last "original" thing I've seen coming from them was Rorobutts (Atelier Rorona), and from what I know, it was a bit of a flop. Who knows if we're going to get Totori at all.
That being said, I'll be on the lookout for this one. I've been trying to thin out my PS2 collection and the NIS games are looking mighty fine to purge, what with all their PSP ports they've got. I still don't have the two Disgaea ports, but I'm planning on getting them. This wouldn't be too bad to add to the pile as well.
Also, "The Hermuda Triangle?" Really? Could they not come up with something less stupid? I would've been fine seeing "Phantom Brave Portable," or even just naming it plain "Phantom Brave," or heck, using the subtitle from the Wii version (which wasn't stupid in the least; it made sense to the story AND sounded neat). Ugh.

My wife enjoyed Atelier Rorona, though she would admit that it's somewhat flawed. I've also heard reasonably good things about Z.H.P. and Disgaea Infinite, though I haven't tried either.

Disgaea 2 for the PSP is probably the best of the Disgaea-style games.

Personally I never understood why they did the Wii port of Phantom Brave, and I reiterate this confusion with this version. Not that Phantom Brave was a bad game, but I never thought it stood out as one of the better ones, either.

Riri, that is being a bit harsh. At least in the US they've put out ZHP, Rorona, Cladun, Last Rebellion (ok, it sucked, but it wasn't a PS2 port), Disgaea Infinite, and Trinity Universe. Next year they've got Prinny 2 (like you said), Disgaea 4, and that weird Neptunia game.
I like the PS2 to PSP ports of NIS games, though, these games are so much easier to play on a portable. It also helps that, even though I own the original PB I've never played past the first 15 minutes of it.

Yep, I also have a PS2 copy of Phantom Brave basically untouched. Not sure if I'll bother to upgrade in this case.

The game is still slated for March, and it will come out at the very friendly price of $20 (http://www.siliconera.com/2011/01/25/phantom-brave-on-psp-costs-less-than-your-average-psp-title/).

At that price, it suddenly went from mostly ignored to tempting, at least for me.
