Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/03/bioshock-ps3-dlc-priced-at-10-detailed/) has posted some details on the PS3 exclusive DLC we've been hearing about:
2K Games today confirmed the November 20th release date of the PS3-exclusive BioShock "Challenge Rooms." The add-on content will be sold through PlayStation Store for $9.99 (in North America) and includes three, self-contained scenarios:
* A Shocking Turn of Events: A Little Sister is trapped atop a Ferris wheel. Players must create electricity to power the Ferris wheel and bring the Little Sister to safety.
* The I in Team: Using limited resources, and an even more limited arsenal, players must negotiate traps and find a way to defeat a Big Daddy.
* Worlds of Hurt: Players must battle through eight rooms of Big Daddies, Splicers and "the worst that Rapture has to offer." Accumulate Adam, build an arsenal of Plasmids, Tonics and Weaponry, and fight through to rescue the Little Sister.I guess this could be fun stuff for those who have bought the PS3 version and want more Bioshock.

There's some upcoming DLC for Bioshock (exclusive to the PS3, just FYI) that is, in my opinion, a complete waste of money.
2K Games today confirmed the November 20th release date (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/19/bioshocks-ps3-challenge-room-dlc-coming-nov-20/) of the PS3-exclusive (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/bioshock-ps3-features-exclusive-dlc-scenarios/) BioShock "Challenge Rooms." The add-on content will be sold through PlayStation Store for $9.99 (in North America) and includes three, self-contained scenarios:

$10 for this? Are you kidding? That's ridiculous.

Maybe we'd need more info, but $10 seems like too much for that.

They've always said it was going to cost something, it wasn't something they hid.

Why, that simply can't be true (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1891). I guess MS and the PC community weren't interested in this at all, since Sony obviously doesn't spend money on exclusive anything. Off topic, but whatever.

That sounds seriously overpriced.
Overpriced DLC - surprise!

Huh, I thought this was already on the PS3 disc. Sounds like it could be fun, though. If it was released for the 360, maybe I'd bite.

Yeah, the OP must be wrong because according to Sony... nothing is exclusive anymore. So of course it's multiplatform.
Was there ever DLC that was charged for on the 360. I remember it all being free or was it a mix of free and charged?
ir was all free as far as I can remember, but it was just plasmids I think.

Lamentably, not much UE3 modding going on. It would have been nice. Or it may just not have sparked that community, STALKER had no released tools but it has tons of mods-weapons, vehicles, enemies, etc.

Almost as overpriced as the downloadable skins for Dead Space.

I guess I'm the only heretic who thinks this could have been worth it. I mean hell...they charge ten bucks for some real CRAP on XBLA...Bioshock was a gem!
Of course, I don't have a PS3 and never will...nor a Wii. I have about 100 games (some ridiculous number...who knows) unfinished. I don't need more.
Edit: That makes me sad. There are games on the PS3 I want to play. And there is at least one game I want to play on the Wii. Or will be, some day. ;)

I'll join you Johan in the heresy. I loved Bioshock, and if it wasn't for the huge backlog of games I have I might of thought about picking it up. At $10 for me there is enough there to justify buying. It's a download that is adding play content. I don't mind. I pay this much for a movie and this DLC would last me more than a movie would. Of course, for many it wouldn't. That's why for me...it's worth it ;)

What's funny is that I predicted that the modding community would be much smaller for UE3 than previous Epic games. The complexity and time involved to make a good mod on that engine is just plain beyond the scope of many hobbyists. Unless you're serious, UE3 is not your friend.
Some cool stuff has come out of the Make Something Unreal contest so far, but we're not seeing half the creativity or quality that we did before.

How are you playing LBP?
On topic: That does seem overpriced for what they provide. Perhaps it's the length of the new "missions?"
