The grand prize list is insane.
*One lucky CAG will win a 320GB Sony PlayStation 3 Slim with Move Starter Pack, a 250GB Microsoft Xbox 360 S with Kinect, a Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Red Nintendo Wii, a Nintendo 3DS or DSi, a Sony PSP, and an iPad. Oh, and a $500 gift card so you can stock up on games. So not quite everything, but what more could you want?
Go HERE (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/competitions.php?competitionid=30&referral=Codicier) if you want to enter. :D

I guess it's a good contest but not sure about your referral link.

And I love you referral lin- I mean, Stmfuller. :)

Not sure in what way? The referral link only works if you use the ticket gotten via Twitter through that link.
But I've got the max two tickets via referrals now, so it's no biggie. ;)

Yeah, no, that's definitely the wrong one.
You want THIS (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/competitions.php?competitionid=30&referral=HandmadeMercury) one.

Allowing referrals can be a slippery slope but I'll leave that one to the mods. Regardless, not being up front about it is a bit off IMO.

It's not like we haven't been doing this for a while:

Seriously? How was it not up front? The URL says referral=Codicier and in general I thought the big letters for "here" and the grin emote made it pretty clear.
Also, what is wrong with asking for referrals for a contest?

I can't see how you think you're initial post was up front about the referral but whatever. I'd delete this and the other thread but that's not my call.

Seemed fine to me, thanks for the heads up on the contest!

I should probably just leave this alone, but I'm honestly curious why you have a problem with referrals as a means of spreading something as benign as a contest from a reputable video game site.

I actually hope Codicer wins. Because now that I've said that he'll be willing to share some of his swag with me :p

It's hard to allow "benign" referrals and still keep out the other shit. You start allowing referrals like this and soon you have tons of posts in barely relevant threads if the mods aren't watchful.
I don't really see this thread as a big deal but the OP was in no way clear it included a referral.

If the sole purpose of this thread was the referral link, I'd be in agreement. However, as the primary reason for this thread seems to be to notify us of a contest that most of us would be interested in, I don't know why it matters if the link is actually a referral or not?
