Move out of the way before we kick it at the following link (http://www.ingamechat.net/audio/IGC20101028.mp3).
Yes, it's been an unforgivably long time since our last show. A not-all-that-specific breakdown of why we were unable to record can be found early on. We can account for most of our absence, thankfully, but there seem to be some holes in our memory. Maybe hypnotic regression is called for? With as much as we've forgotten in the interim weeks, it certainly couldn't hurt.
Listen and enjoy, if you can remember how.

Good to have you guys back. Going to miss James, but it'll be interesting to hear some of these interviews. Also, it'll be interesting to see who jumps in to give Matt shit.;)

Good to hear from you guys again! I tweeted about Castlevania: Lords of Shadow; definitely check it out, regardless of whether you are long time fans of the series. It seems like one of those games that is just divisive in itself. I've seen people new to the series love and hate it, and longtime Castlevania fans like myself also love and hate it. I personally thought it was great, and the re-invention that the series has needed for a long time, now.
The game came out at a great time to get looked over, though, in the middle of the Fall rush (same day as Enslaved, actually), and with the middling quality of post 3D Castlevania games, well, I would really like to see it be a hit, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

It's definitely one I want to check out. Of course, I have a Gamefly queue the length of my arm that I need to go through including Enslaved, New Vegas and a bunch of others including Lords of Shadow. It doesn't help that Brotherhood comes out next week either.

It's time for me to give some serious consideration on joining up with GameFly.
A while back, the Blockbuster Video stores here in Montgomery were pretty reliable in getting the newest titles available for rental soon after its release. Nowadays, when I ask for new titles like Fallout : New Vegas, or Castlevania - Lords of Shadow, I get some convoluted excuses involving distributors, upper-management decisions, and/or declarations of bankruptcy. Yet I've noticed there's no problem when it comes to them getting the latest movies in.
Bottom line is that as of right now, Montgomery's Blockbuster Video simply isn't providing what I want. Somewhat of a letdown considering how well they used to. I recall James and Scott often referring to their local Blockbuster as "A Real Blockbuster". We definitely need one of those here.

GameFly might work, or you could try some of the other services out there like Goozex or Buy/Sell/Trade threads on forums, or of course Amazon/eBay. Depending on the volume of games you want to play and how quickly you want to do it, the economics of buying used might even beat out renting.

Used and trading options are indeed economical, but I don't think they address his problem with faux-Blockbuster, which is timeliness.

Just got in from my local Blockbuster...the real one that Arjay was referring to...was able to get Need For Speed, Brotherhood, and Black Ops.

To clarify, Arjay and I live in Montgomery which has shitty franchise Blockbusters. Scott lives just north of us in Prattville which has a magical corporate-owned Blockbuster staffed by genies.

Doesn't Blockbuster have a mail-in deal also? Might be the best of both worlds, since he can clear up his queue immediately by turning in at the store, depending on how well and timely it is, of course.

So will there be a "Part 2" of sorts coming soon (with the rest of the emails/tweets), or will all that jazz have to wait until the new year when James isn't swamped?

We were going to try to record something this week before James' schedule was sucked into the black hole of theater but it didn't work out. We're hoping to provide some kind of content while James is gone. Chances are Scott or Jeremy will update here or on Twitter regarding our next show.

What most of us love about this podcast is that this isn't your day job, so we're pretty understanding when the day job (or life drama) does get in the way. Love the show, appreciate all your opinions, and don't stress about it. We'll be here when the planets get aligned again. (Just try to make it a long one!) :)

Thank you everyone for being so understanding. This is a crazy time of the year for most, if not all, of us.

As you may have seen on Twitter, we're hoping the stars align and we'll record a show Thursday. Hopefully this will mean a fresh, hot serving of show for your listening pleasure fairly soon.
