Anyone here participate in National Graphic Novel Writing Month? The one month with an even more confusing acronym than NaNoWriMo. I was talking with my roommate about working together on a book, but was under the impression that it was in November, not October. Oops! Thinking about maybe doing it in November, anyway.

For those of you that are unaware, NaGraNoWriMo is a challenge to create a 48 page graphic novel in a single month. Pretty much a rip off of NaNoWriMo, but with pictures!

2 pages a day almost...intriguing...

I would say that's less intense. They should boost the page count. Choose a better month, and run with it with the same fervor of say NaNoWriMo and Script Frenzy. Script Frenzy I think does inclue the idea of graphic novels though.

Write 100 pages of original scripted material in the 30 days of April. (Screenplays, stage plays, TV shows, short films, and graphic novels are all welcome.)

Yeah. I was going to write a TV show pilot earlier this year, but family health issue left me a little frazzled. I wonder could one man write both a TV Show and a graphic novel in a month? I bet it if he was passionate enough he could. I bet Neil Gaimen could. He can do anything in the whole world.

I disagree with your claim that this isn't intense, Xerxes. An 100 page script is not nearly as much work as 48 pages of script, plus finished art. In my experience making comics, the art is way more work than the scripting.

I meant it wasn't as intense as the novel. :p

Didn't know you had to do the art as well. Yeesh, I could only fathom the poor artwork trying that. Even still, why not a 100 pages plus finished art? 48 pages isn't a graphic novel. That's a Giant Sized edition. :D

Because 100 pages plus art is quite an absurd amount to do in a month, and would probably severely limit people from being able to do it? 48 is a hell of a lot. Extra time, you can always go more detailed in the art, add / polish color, etc.
