I was thinking about some of the major game series that I have never played and thought it would be interesting to see what games some of us have never partaken in. Tell us which of these games you have never played.

That's a pretty hefty take. :) I've never played a Final Fantasy game from this poll or World of WarCraft from the other.

I've played them all. Multiple games in every single one of those series. Zelda is the only one that I haven't played more than 2 games in the series. But then again, I'm old, so I grew up playing many of them.

I have to hope there are degrees of playing a game on this website. I have played any of these games, some of them for maybe less than 2 hours, collectively over my life.

I don't think I've played a Madden game. Only a few minutes of Sonic. The rest I pretty much grew up on.

Having never played a FF or Castlevania would be a bizzaro world.

I think that saying series, is a little all too inclusive, simply because of the number of games some of those series have had. Like Final Fantasy, even if you haven't touched all the FF games in the last 15 years, you have to had played at least one of them at some point.

It would be better if you listed specific classic games, like I've never played Castlevania III, or the original Diablo, Halo and Call of Duty.

I don't think I've ever played a Madden. I might have... but that would have been on the Mega Drive. I actually have a copy somewhere for some reason.

Of course, Madden games presumably have significantly less significance outside of North America. You perhaps should have made that entry "Madden/FIFA Series" for a bit of international equivalence. I still would have ticked that box though.

I'm surprised that Castlevania and Megaman got so many votes. Those people mustn't have had NESes. I'm glad Tetris and Pacman have no votes yet. It would just seem wrong for anyone to not have.

Played 'em all. I don't STILL play all those franchises but I have. In fact, I've given up on most of them. The new Castlevania is coming from Gamefly, but the last time I played a game in those franchises listed was a LONG time ago. I've even given up on Zelda. It's just the same game over and over and over again.

Have only played tetris, pacman, and very little of street fighter 4. And of course pacman was played at an arcade like ghod intended.

From this list, the only games I've finished are the FFX & FFXII and LoZ: Wind Waker & LoZ: Twilight Princess. Tetris & Pac Man I've played as pastimes, but never finished (or played for more than 1/2 hour at at time).

Seeing as how the only two games without any votes are singletons, it would seem you are mistaken. ;) As already mentioned, I have never played a Final Fantasy game. :p

Technically, I've played at least one game in all those series. I chose Madden because I've barely played that and it was only one game or two games.

I've played everything on that list, though I was tempted to check off Pac-Man. Then I remembered I actually played it in an arcade cabinet at a gaming con once. So I guess I could check off Madden, since I've only played one of those games.

Funny thing about Madden. I had Madden '94 (I'm pretty sure) for the Sega Genesis and played the heck out of that thing. Never played one before or since, though.

For the most part, I would say that even playing a small amount of time counts. I'd say this is a good example of an exception, though.

Another vote for Madden. Given just how many people were into it, I'm sure I've probably played it in the past at some point, but we're talking maybe a single game and nothing that even remotely furthered my interest in the series.

In my case I did not own console until I got a 360, before that I only played PC games and preferred RPGs and infocom text adventures during my early days of PC and pre-PC computer formats.

Interesting. I'm just surprised you never played it at a friend's house or anything, even. I remember when the Nintendo came out, it was a pretty big deal. I played it at several friends' houses before ever having my own. I guess it would make sense if you are are younger, but infocom text adventures makes me think that's not the case. :)

Anyway, I just find it amazing that someone managed to miss that entirely. Of course, someone else mentioned that never playing Final Fantasy would be a bizarro world and that's exactly the world I'm living in. ;)

Out of what was listed, 2D Mario has probably received the most overall playtime from me (I'll play through SMW with all 96 exits in one sitting if the mood strikes me).

I've probably spent the least amount of time with the Grand Theft Auto series. I always enjoy myself until I start doing the actual missions... Then I quickly grow bored and wander off.

Interesting, I'm the exact opposite. Just running around "sandboxing-it-up" quickly bores me, but actually playing through the game I find intriguing. That said, I've only completed the original GTA 3 and haven't even touched any of the games after that one.

I listed Mega Man, but then I realized that I played a small amount of the PC version of the first game years ago. Thus I've played every game on that list to at least some extent.

I've only played a little bit of one of the Gameboy Final Fantasy games and maybe 10 minutes of Madden. Otherwise I've played anywhere from a fair amount (Sonic, Street Fighter) to a ton (Mario, Zelda) of the other series listed.

No it shouldn't!

1) You just claimed to have played Mega Man on the PC
2) Tetris is a PC staple.
3) Final Fantasy has PC incarnations.
4) It goes along with the other sheltered gamer poll which includes many more PC titles.
5) The concept is a general gaming one.

Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and Wind Waker are three of my all-time favorite games. I even cried at the end of Link's Awakening. However, I agree with you that the series has grown incredibly stale. Wind Waker is the only 3D Zelda game that has grabbed me.

Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and Wind Waker are three of my all-time favorite games. I even cried at the end of Link's Awakening. However, I agree with you that the series has grown incredibly stale. Wind Waker is the only 3D Zelda game that has grabbed me.

Really? You couldn't get into OoT or Majora's Mask? Those games were fantastic. Wind Waker was a great game, and I loved the art direction they took, but as far as games go OoT and Majora were better games IMO. I'm surprised to see you neglect them so.
