My telly just died on me at the most inopportune time, so I'm reluctantly in the market for a new one. Here's what I'm looking for:
At least 40 inches
1080p
120Hz
I don't much care about make or model (name brand versus off-brand).
Budget - I'd like to keep it under $600 if possible. Planning for a very expensive event next September.
Any thoughts/recommendations?

Well, first, there is a Woot Off on www.woot.com right now, and they usually have a couple of TVs make the rounds there for a really good price.
Failing that you can start here (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?id=pcat17080&type=page&qp=crootcategoryid%23%23-1%23%23-1%7E%7Eq70726f63657373696e6774696d653a3e313930302d 30312d3031%7E%7Ecabcat0100000%23%230%23%23wv%7E%7E cabcat0101000%23%230%23%236e%7E%7Ef330%7C%7C343026 71756f743b202d2034392671756f743b%7E%7Ef878%7C%7C34 302671756f743b%7E%7Ef519%7C%7C24353030202d20243734 392e3939%7E%7Enf690%7C%7C313230487a&list=y&nrp=15&sc=TVVideoSP&ks=960&usc=abcat0100000&sp=-bestsellingsort+skuid&list=y&iht=n&st=processingtime%3A%3E1900-01-01) and certainly find better deals elsewhere. Personally I like the Sharp Aquos, which can be had at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003E1Z9P8/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003UHHGPM&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0BS88PXQ0CVY35ZB0C41) for $600.

Vizio. Good tvs, cheap.
If you have a Sam's or Costco card, go there and look around. 90 day warranty too, no questions asked (you can make something up if you don't like it 89 days later if you wanted).
