Yay for DW7! I love that series.

Not overly thrilled on it being PS3 exclusive, simply because I want more people to play the awesome.

Sigh.
I can get my copy today. I just grab a black pen and write 7 on my copy of 6:(

This is one series that really needs to be put to rest. I've played a few of them and they are basically all the exact same.

LIES! Lies and untruths and arghlblarghladhas.... Okay, you're right.

I know all the criticism for the DW series, but I don't really care. They're so incredibly fun that I love every second I play of them. I still load up DW6 on a fairly regular basis just to complete another character's story.

I'd be surprised if they kept it PS3 exclusive outside of Japan since they've been building up a fanbase on 360 with DW6, WO2, DWSF, GM etc.

I hope they keep the Warriors Orochi feature of having 3 warriors available at once. I find that makes things a lot more interesting.

I never get the "DW is all the same! I hate it! blargaglarba!" argument. First, because it isn't true. Also, this argument could be used against 90% of franchises in every genre in existence as well.

I love the DW/SW franchise. It doesn't change any more or less than most other games from one iteration to the next. If you mean the core gameplay, yeah, that stays the same. It's a beat 'em up with RPG and strategy elements, those things will remain constant. Nearly every FPS/RPG/Strategy/Sports franchise out there does the same. Everything else tends to change a fair amount. If you played DW5, then played Samurai Warriors, and then played Warriors Orochi and told me they didn't change one bit, I'd know you didn't play them because that's horrifically untrue.

Haters gonna hate. :p

I didn't play a lot of the 'variants', but I really love how in DW6 they really came up with 'in flavor' stories for each of the characters, especially if them being sucessful was against the source material. I mean, Cao Cao's was just *brilliant*.

For every good idea a new DW game has, it removes a good feature of the earlier ones.

I mean, what I really want is basically to have more random-loot and for the game to be more like Diablo. Strikeforce was closer to it, but also still really stupid ideas.
I swear Omegaworks purposely throws in stupid/shitty things so that there will NEVER be a truly complete and great DW game.

Right. DW2 had individually tailored plots/cinematics for all the characters. Then they vanished for a while. Which is what got me hooked in the first place!

Consistency. Please.

Fair enough. I've also got mixed feelings about the Empires series. I picked up the DW6E game a long time ago, and it was *nowhere* near as fun or absorbing as the 'base' game.

Did anyone check out the Basara demo? It thought it wasn't half bad.

Yeah, I haven't tried the demo yet but at this point the game is pretty much a must buy if only to see a different take on the genre. I plan to download the demo soon.

Loved the Warriors Orochi 2 game for the 360. Then again I love all the titles that have come out but the idea of having three playable folks that you can tag in and out and then have a mashed up story for a "crossover" universe of DW and SW make for some fun gaming moments.

Overall I've enjoyed the progression in terms of abilities and getting that 4th weapon.
