Okay, it's time for the trial run. Some of you saw my earlier thread regarding this subject, but if you didn't then please go here (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=19244) and take a look. In the interest of keeping things uniform I'm going to cut and paste the "rules" so that they can be carried over from thread to thread:
1. I am announcing that Velvet Assassin for the 360 is available for five others to play.
2. If you’re interested, post in this thread. To keep it manageable only up to five respondents are allowed (especially for this inaugural run).
3. Participants must have at least 100 posts in the forums so that we have had time to get to know them.
3. Once five participants are reached (or less if interest isn't that high in this particular game), I will amend this post with the following:
1. Sandman
2. Mike Kelehan
3. Purple Santa
4. Crittias
5. Drayven - With Drayven
4. Gamer #1 will PM me with their mailing address. Gamers 2 - 5 will PM the person above them with their mailing address (sorry, US only). Gamer 5 would not get anyone’s address but will mail the game to an address listed below.
5. I will then mail the game to Gamer 2 at my expense.
6. Gamer 2 gets the game and has up to 5 weeks to play the hell out of it. After which they mail the game at their expense to Gamer 3. This goes on until we reach Gamer 5.
7. Gamer 5 then mails the game to Fun For Our Troops (http://gamersoutreach.org/get-involved/donate/), which takes used game donations for soldiers. Again, this is mailed at their expense:
Fun For Our Troops
P.O. Box 602
Newtown, PA 18940
8. I will be responsible for updating the original post with whoever has the game at that current moment, so if I’m Gamer 4 I could go back to the thread and see that Gamer 2 still had it, for example. That would mean each Gamer would be responsible for PMing me their status.
Once this trial run is over I'll see what worked and what didn't work, then tweak some and then start it up again (I've got another game already lined up). This can only succeed with the participation of the community, so please participate and keep it honest and straight.

A word about Velvet Assassin: It was trounced when the reviews came out but I found it incredibly fun to play. The atmosphere is great with the sense of tension about you. I understand some of the game mechanics weren't the most polished but I still feel this is worth a play, especially if it'll only cost you $2.50 or so in postage. There was a lot of comparison between this and The Saboteur when they came out (though they are entirely different games) and while The Saboteur is the better game overall, I think Velvet Assassin definitely conveyed the sense of WWII a lot better. For all its fun, The Saboteur could have been set in any time period (scenery aside), while Velvet Assassin definitely takes place during the horrors of WWII. The graphics are actually pretty good as well, and the stealth kill animations are fun even after the hundredth time.
I was surprised at how much fun I had, and as far as atmosphere, I think this does better than any game I can think of to actually make you feel as if you're in some WWII drama. Most games are all scenery and little grit, as it were, but Velvet Assassin succeeds spectacularly on that account.
This game was bought without a game manual, but for those of you needing one the PC version can be downloaded here (http://www.replacementdocs.com/download.php?view.7963).
This inaugural trial is filled up! Thanks to the participants above. I'll be updating this as we go along and I already have another game lined up once this has gone through the first 3 or so people.
