Way to go guys.

Wel, Nanowrimo is over. I admit, I didn't officially participate, but I actually started writing this month. I've been keeping a notebook on me, and I write bits and snatches of the narrative when I can.

I mean, I've been writing for years, but I never kept an honest-to-god writing notebook around before. Feels good.

What are all you gentlemen writing about?

Congrats, Kielaran!! Way to muscle through it! :D

You and I, on the other hand... :D

I'm just glad I tried at all. It was nice to write non-fiction for the first time in six or so years. I won't be able to participate next November, but I'll remember this time fondly. :)

You can see a year into the future? ;)

If so, I could really do with the lotto numbers in a pinch, Mags. :D

...
Relating to this NaNoWriMo, I decided to see what I could cut from my story, today... and found it much harder than I imagined. It's not like my chapters are so tightly interwoven or anything, just that I've become attached to even the most useless of them.

Oh, and on a question of style, does anyone have some tips for smoothly showing the passage of time? A lot of my stories take place over a series of days, but as this one spans months...

Next November is when I'll be taking the huge test to get my WOSTEP (http://www.wostep.ch/index.php) certification to officially become a watchmaker. It's a week long, with a written exam and three practical exams (a quartz movement, a chronograph, and an automatic).

Needless to say next November will be insanely busy.

You can only do it in November? How convenient.

Sidenote, I need you to make the finest watch $200 can make. The thing is I have a few special... specifications that need to be adhered to.

Bit premature, perhaps, but best of luck with that.

I am tempted to play those numbers, Mags... so tempted. :p

It's a set date. I have no control over it.

Also, I'm not making a watch that contains your semen. Sorry.

Thanks!

As long as you split the winnings with me, go ahead! :D

Cute, but wrong. I need a watch that can sync me up with everyone else's time and also allow me to slow down time. I'll handle that second part.

Help me name my NaNo 2010 starship (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=20747). Any assistance anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you are looking for Dr. Who, not Dr. Gnome. ;)

The watch is mostly symbolic. I'm a wizard; I'll handle the fantastical parts. ;)

I'll see what I can do. :p
