Yeah, as soon as I saw the Kotaku quote:

I kind of figured what slant the alteration would take. I was not wrong. Ah Japan, where everybody wants large breasts and nobody's got them. :p

I find it funny and a little sad that, for some people, all beauty is boiled down to a few features like breasts or eyes or hair. It gets repetitive when anime anything has at least one female character that defies all physical laws to look like another carbon copy plastic doll idealization of a person.

Hm. I didn't mean to get that serious.

The alterations themselves are pretty impressive though, in that if I hadn't seen the original, I might not have known this was modified.

I think I prefer the original Faith for the game though. The enhanced Faith on the other hand, I prefer her for a dream I will be having tonight. Involving her saying "Oui" over and over in a very salacious sounding voice. :o

Large breasted Japanese women are in the minority though, that's why the ones that have them are often models. And I suspect that's also why large breasts are highly desirable in Japan: they're rare. Tittiemon, gotta catch-em all! :D

Well, to be honest, both the women AND the men have no sense of realism, so that balances it out really.

The changes they made weren't just in the eyes and bewbs. They changed her facial structure as well to make her more feminine and less "tough chick." I like me some tough chicks from time to time, but I do prefer the smoother, more rounded cheeks on the "Asian" faith. I don't know why everyone hates on the eye marking, though. I like it. It's different, even if it makes us all think of KISS.

I think she looked far more realistic (and exactly like an Asian friend of mine) in the first picture. And as for looking tougher, well, this is the kind of girl who practices parkour, hardly the cute, fake-breasted softy in the second picture. That kind of strenuous physical activity is likely to keep breast size down regardless of nationality.

I don't bother tiding up my posts since i know there will be either words spelt wrong, words that are wrong since i picked the wrong one in the spell checker, or words that i've used the wrong grammar for... it's fun being dyslexic... and even if my posts are a mess there is no way any one could miss the joke unless they got offended beacuse they like amine, game faq writing or not. I'm a fan of anime but it's always funny to make jokes about how half the girls look like 12 year olds.

Honestly I really like the first one, its one of the cooler things about the character. Shes attractive, but realistic. Shes like the anti-Lara Croft, which is pretty cool in my opinion.

If you look at the artists rendering of Faith, she's almost completely stripped of her Asian features and made to look for American/European.
