It's out.
Yay?
Gamefly sent it to me on 360.
Style is pretty cool.
Gameplay is pretty rote and boring.
Also it can be frustrating as I think Player Characters have locational damage, as I have been insta-killed a few times. Which wouldn't be bad, but the checkpoints are annoying, a bit further out than Gears of War 1, but it's so much easier to have a sudden death. At least the AI has no grenades.
Main problem is that sometimes there are just too many fucking dudes to kill. Then into the next room where another 20 guys need to be murdered.
There is also no music and the sound of gunfire gets boring.
The supporting characters aren't really more than names, as I never saw Glazer (one of the core cast) face until toward the end of the game, as most characters are faceless, but not nameless. It's a bit annoying.
So yeah, it's better than K&L 1, it's now a mediocre game.

3 hours and 45 minutes. That's how long it took me to complete the game on Medium, which seems to be their 'Normal' difficulty setting.
Nothing remarkable to speak of as an experience, save for the inspired video filter effects. In particular, the color separation and pixelation of gore/nudity made things very interesting. Many tout this effect as some type of 'YouTube' filter, but it looks less like YouTube and more like my father's home videos in 1980.
I'm excited to see Deus Ex for that very reason: I think developers could sieze upon some new styles of visuals and color correction to make very unique experiences.

WTF is up with such a short game. That might be the shortest game I've played since the very old days of NES gaming (some of those side scrollers and stuff).
No way is 3.75 hours worth $60 to me. I liked the first Kane and Lynch, but I don't think I'll ever buy this unless I found it for $10, tops. That's a fast ass game.
The game does have some pretty awesome multiplayer though, especially with friends. Betraying someone you know makes for hilarious party chat.

The couple of reviews I've read have lamented that the multi isn't the real focus of the game. It sounds a hell of a lot more interesting than the story/co-op campaign.

Shame, cause the demo showed serious potential. 3.5 hours and repetition makes me wonder what the devs have been doing for the last 2 years.

The campaign is short, and not really memorable. Which is weird, as Gears of War 2 was kinda short, but it kept having cool shit, as was Modern Warfare 2. This was short and pretty routine, nothing really changed level to level.
I'm still not done as I am so frustrated in a longish fight in the docks after the costume change. Just too many guys, not enough cover, and said guys sometimes get lucky hits that instant kill. Oh, lose the rest of the progress.
It's not even a tight really GOOD 4 hours.
If it was 4 hours of super great levels and action.. I'd be happy. But it's 4 hours of mediocre.
I will give MP a shot.

That might be good for a few rounds, but the MP doesn't have legs. First, the placement of the enemy AI and level layout is the same every match. Second, other than the Undercover Cop mode, where one person is secretly a cop and must try and kill off the players, every match is a clusterfuck of team-killing. Some guys will TK you at the start of a second match if you killed them at the end of the first. Then retribution happens and the next thing you know every match starts with some guy(s) going apeshit everyone shooting at each other.
Again, fun for a lugh or two, but no legs on that mode. In a multiplayer environment where developers are supporting anti-griefing features, and players are asking for it, K&L2's multiplayer will attract those asses like moths to a flame.

I can't do it.
I can't get to the fucking plane.
No matter what, I seem to be late.
If I sprint all out, still too slow. Or I get killed by a dude or a dog.
If I fight things, I am too slow.
This game is shit.
Shitty shitty game with boring levels taking place in grittier versions of the standard trope warehouses from every game ever.
No one else in the world seems to have had any trouble with this game at all, or this ending. What the hell is wrong with me?

This was basically me in the first game. I was really hoping the game would do well as I like IO but oh man...

I did it.. weirdly enough, I didn't change my routine at all, except this time it worked.
It didn't tell me how long I took, probably about 6 hours thanks to restart after restart after restart in some parts.
The ending sucked, the game was sucky, only people who should play it are guys who do visual effects filters for other games, as that was the good part of it.
The difficulty was also really inconsistent, there would be points where I just blaze through a dozen checkpoints then die and die and die and die.

I'll be getting this one when it's on sale for $5, apparently! I'm not even going to spring $20 on a boring four hours. Shame, as I rather liked the grimdark characters and story in the first K&L.

I just found out I owned the first one. O_o
I might try it based on how playing that one goes or how cheap I find it.

I'm with Deadend. As I said elsewhere, it's a bog-standard shooter.
[√]Bullet sponges - I saw numerous enemies run through my fire like Family Guy mobster Big Fat Paulie
[√]Useless AI partner - At the beginning of one later level, I was unable to find a weapon before the enemies showed up. Lynch had a pistol, but instead of shooting it, he was content to stand face to face with a policeman and get a bullet facial.
[√]Boring level design - Nothing but corridors and arenas with conspicuously placed cover objects. May as well have been a rail shooter.
Don't waste your time on this, particularly not with Mafia 2 about to drop.

I think the biggest cause of this could be hit detection. The game has shitty hit detection. When I play a shooter and I pull the trigger with my crosshairs over a torso, I expect a majority of bullets to strike where I'm aiming.
Instead, the hit detection - or lack thereof - rivals Alpha Protocol, and that game was basing it on stats or whatever.

I found the AI partner useful in some areas. I could get in cover and Kane would do the work. Most of the time, however, he did jack shit and the AI guys took forever to kill and when they were in cover, the cover seems to be larger than it should be, as I couldn't shoot exposed limbs.
I also have been shot, while in cover, in another room, behind a wall. It's like the AI bullets can clip through objects.
I think most standout weakness was the level designs... they were boring as hell, and nothing cool happens. Compared to the other 4-5 hour single player shooters (Modern Warfare 2, Army of TuTu(also in the same city) and others) it doesn't feel like it was worked on by a full stuff. If that makes sense. Like in most games I can see "ah, that must have taken awhile" in the short games with tons of cool shit, and the longer games have less cool shit, but more shit. K&L2 had pretty much nothing, and it still seemed to drag on and on and on. It was the worst of both worlds.
I really wanted to like it too, as the demo was fun. But the demo had literally everything in it. There are just more areas in the full game.

Y'all are doling out some serious heartbreak here. I thought the demo was pretty damn good and was anxious to try the full deal.
Just curious, but of everyone here, who all played it cooperatively rather than with the AI partner?

I agree that the hit detection is crap, but I don't think that's the only issue. On normal difficulty, I could see enemies stumble and dance around from being hit, but they just kept going. It was like a carnival game; they'd run out, get hit, run the other way, get hit...

When I exited the demo it made my PC emergency reboot. I tried launching the game later and it happened right away. I love the visual style but I'm not touching this game with a 10-ft pole

Play it on a 360/PS3. Or at low resolutions. The VFX look hokey at the resolutions a PC can do.
But you would be wise to play a better game.
Like 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand.

playing it on 360... 3hrs to finish? I could possibly do that tonight and get the game guarantee back on it.
i like everything except the blair witch camera... who is filming it and they never make mention of the cameraman... also why is the nudity and gore blurred but not all of it?

I just played some of the demo, I think it looks awesome. Love the visual style. Super smooth frame rate and the video filters are a great look.
Didn't care for the bouncing camera much though (not so much in firefights, but just walking around made me motion sick), and the game itself seemed rather dull. I didn't progress very far into the demo before turning it off.
