Mirror's Edge has been a game of interest for most people for a good while now. But there has always been the question of how it will play. Well, good news, you'll find out tomorrow if you have a PS3 or Friday if you own an Xbox 360.
The demo contains the prologue, a tutorial, and a portion of the single player story mode.
The game hits stores on November 11th.

I didn't like what I played of it at PAX (the PS3 version). Then again, it was a quick play and I hadn't gotten very comfortable with the controls. I'll definitely give this demo a good few plays to see if I still have my problems with it that I did almost 2 months ago.

There's also an extra time trial you unlock in the demo if you pre-order.

Friday! I cannot be asked to wait that long while the PStriple troglodytes are enjoying it tomorrow.
I kid, because I love. Seriously though, I cannot wait to give this one a shot.

So the demo hits 12 days before the game. I wonder if non gold members will have to wait until the 13th to try the demo.

I'll pick up the 360 version, but I'll demo it on the PS3. Really anxious to play this one.

Ms. Claus was looking at this one. Maybe i'll download the PS3 version since i'm most likely renting this for the 360...

This has been an awesome week for demos. EndWar, Brothers in Arms, TR: Underworld and soon Mirror's Edge. I'm going to have to clear even more space on my hard drive.

Only on XBL, as far as I am aware, but yes.

Sweetness.
Now if only I didn't have a midterm coming on Friday. :(
Oh well, Friday afternoon is going to be very enjoyable. ( Though I'll likely be downloading it for the PS3 on Thursday and just refraining from playing it until Friday )

The PC version is unfortunately only coming out later. At least, according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror%27s_Edge)it is.

Eh, I guess I can wait. Not like I don't have plenty of other things to play. Maybe I'll dust off my roommates 360 and download it. He usually doesn't mind.

I'll definitely give this a try, although this game is pretty low on my radar.

I really hate that right after I went to University with internet that prioritizes EVERYTHING over XBL all the good demos like pure, this, Mercenaries, and others I have forgotten come out.
Really glad to see this. Mirror's Edge is one of those games that sits just on the edge of my radar that I can't quite make up my mind about. I absolutely love the idea behind it along with the art direction (outside of the way the main character looks) but I can't help but feel it's going to end up a bit like Dragon's Lair or Space Ace where you just get the timing down of everything before you rinse, repeat.
Unless the demo blows me away, this will most likely either determine if it's a rental or something I buy on the cheap once I manage to get through the holiday flux of awesome that I'm currently trying to wade through.

I'm with Blue. On the one hand, I really want to love Mirror's Edge. I quite enjoyed Breakdown and feel that this could fill that void in my soul. It's also a new IP and has a very distinct visual style. I'm all over that sort of thing.
But it's coming at the tail end of a very expensive year for me (esp. with my basement renovations) and I need to be convinced it's worth dropping $60 on it first. I'm going to play the demo and I will probably rent it first to get a taste of it when it comes out and then wait until the new year to actually buy it... assuming it's great :)

The image in the OP just makes Mirror's Edge look like some sort of first person lesbian porno game, which I would totally buy.
After thinking about that for a while, I just can't get excited about a parkour game.

Mirror's Edge has been on my radar for a while. It reminds me of a next-gen Breakdown.

Yeah it is. Though the controls haven't aged that well.

As it should be. Ms. Claus is waiting for you in Fable 2 :p. Yes she's a demanding soul....

As many things don't. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be played...with ;)
I'm going to download this tonite and TR...instead of playing the stack of games I have that I need to be playing. Yah...my gaming priorities are set up right

I liked the visuals, the way you barge yourself against a door or pull up your legs when jumping, the audio was really good, some of the best sound effects I heard in a while. The controls were also reasonably tight when running and jumping. And it did give me a rush when things were going right
I disliked the wall jump immensely, that's just a LR, RB, LR motion without actually feeling in control cause you don't know what the fuck you're doing. I also felt it kinda sterile in it's storytelling in game, and the clinical look did look stylish in a tech demo kinda way, don't know if it's nice to have a whole game like that. That's still my whole problem with this, like Creed, it's nice for a while, but I don't see a lot of lasting appeal if you don't like time trialing. And I hate those.
Combat felt adequate, but it didn't feel different than other FPS games when you're without a gun (a bit like the darkness, only that felt better because stuff was automated).
I wish we had a rental system here, but we don't, so I'll pick it up for 20 bucks down the line. It's still fun, but not 60 bucks worth.

Assassin's Creed is the vibe I get from this game and that's exactly why I'm looking at it as a rental first before being a purchase.
I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed when it was firing on all cylinders. It just had too many instances when the frustration overwhelmed the fun for me to be as excited for anything that evokes the same gut reaction.

had some good fun with the demo this morning..Not enough time to get a really good idea of if I'm going to like it or not, but it's going on my gamefly list.

I like it. It'll probably have to wait for a pricedrop, but the demo wasn't bad.
