This would be the very definition of a "dry" week. Not a whole lot if you're looking for something on the PS3, though the PSP does finally get it's version of the PSN game Gravity Crash. We do get another PS1 classic, Motor Toon Grand Prix (made by the team that went on to do Gran Turismo), though this one is strangely currently only playable on the PS3. There's also a good number of permanent price drops on the downloadable versions of some older PSP games, many to the $10 mark. The full update from the PlayStation Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/07/20/playstation-store-update-148/):

Aaaaaah yes, and now demo's start appearing on Plus instead of the normal service, pfffffffffff.

Pretty weak otherwise, if plus offered discounts on new stuff I would be interested, but now it's totally useless to me..

Yeah, I took a look through the other day and the discounts and bonuses seemed pretty rare. Nothing really interesting enough for me to consider purchasing plus.

I am glad I did not buy it at the outset. If the free Little big Planet had been true for NA, they probably would have hooked me. As it stands there is little to sway me.

The K_L demo is for everyone on the EU store, so go there if you´re interested.

I mean, if i recall correctly from their earlier adverts, aren't PLUS members supposed to get timed demos (like a full hour), not just more access to demos, and also some free games and discounts on others? From what I saw, a very select number of titles have any discounts. Maybe they're still getting their stuff together.

They'd be smart to give like 10-20% off across the board to plus members. They'll still be making profit on the sales and get plenty more cash from subscriptions.

Wow. People are pissed. Apparently, someone promised a "true PSOne classic" this week, and SCEA dumped Motor Toon Grand Prix on them instead.

Nothing for me except the ModNation and LBP DLC.

Wasn´t Motortoon a launch title, so in that regard it´s kinda classic.

And damn I do want that DLC but freaking 5 bucks for the Marvel stuff, no deal.

What I don´t get is why the demo is free here but in the US it´s paid for content (at least, for now), way to make sure people don't feel screwed in the end.

The K&L demo things is weird, but that kind of thing has happened before. The Valkyria Chronicles demo was tied to Qore in the US for a month or so but you could freely download it from the EU store with no restrictions.

Think it's finally time for me to grab MVC 2.

I imported the Playstation 1 back in 1994 before it hit the states and Motor Toon Grand Prix was the game I got with it. It was my very first ever PS1 game so yeah... it's a true classic.

I'm a whore for LBP DLC, so I usually purchase day one.:p

I don't remember if Motor Toon was a launch title, but I don't think it fits the definition of "classic." What's funny is when people are listing PSOne classics they want to see on the blog and 90% of them are SquareSoft games.

That's because Square had a great lineup on the PS1, arguably better than any other publisher. I'd love to see Working Designs games make it up on the PSN, if only so more people can experience the brilliance of Arc The Lad 2 (the best 2D JRPG ever released), but with WD being dead I'm not sure how realistic that is.

You must not have played a bunch of PSOne games if MTGP is your true classic.:(

I played a ton of PS1 games as the PS1 was one of my all time favorite systems but you never forget your first....

Some of those PSP price drops are pretty nice. If I bought the Capcom classics then along with the Genesis collection I'd have about all the retro gaming I'd ever need, on the go.
