It’s that time again:

Really a long weekend but a vacation nevertheless. See everyone on Sunday.

What will YOU play?

I will try to finish up Darksiders (haven't played it since I decided I wasn't in the mood for block puzzles) and maybe start Alan Wake.

Other than that, I'll be playing SMT: Strange Journey and hopefully a little TF2 if we have any CoG events this weekend. Last but not least, I'll be playing BEER DRINKING.

PC: more red faction guerilla

360: Sniper Ghost Warrior, Deathsmiles and try to finish off Harry Potter Lego

Maybe catch up on some DLC, since renting Crackdown2 only lasted me from Sunday 'til Tuesday, and I don't get Darkstar One (never played it on PC, so fingers crossed) until next week.

Between GTA, Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Fallout3, I've probably got $100 worth of DLC I've barely played.

Or I might just get the last few achievements I'm missing on Just Cause 2. Tethering a car to a helicopter and bowling people over with it does have an appeal...

Going to an amusement park tomorrow to be amused. Also, it's for my company picnic. My family is going, as are my parents and in-laws. Because pretty much our entire family works for the same big company. It's going to be like 90 degrees, which will suck. But I hope my son has fun.

Then, for gaming, I'll be doing the following:

Just Cause 2 - ignoring the story missions and liberating areas and causing chaos. Fun fun fun. Great game to just fire up and play a while and move on. Satisfying.

Uncharted 2 - I'm playing this in pieces instead of one giant push through. I think it's because sometimes I just crave a more mindless game and JC2 is sitting there crying out to me. But UC is great. I'm in Nepal, so I know it's going to get even better.

DeathSpank - I might pick up the game this weekend. Heard lots of good things about it. The demo was great.

Ultima VII - Had a real craving to play this like I do every year. Such a great game. But this time I'm going to fire it up via DosBox instead of Exult. Exult is great and fixes some issues but it's not the true way to play U7...yet. Character schedules and other little things like the combat are off or not working properly. And basically DOSBox is still the purest way to experience the game. And I miss the original music, though you can load up the original files to Exult. Still not the same. This game is my favorite of all time for a reason. It's just so damn good.

Getting towards the end of inFamous I think. I'm over 60% through the Warren District. I'll play as much as I can tonight. Also getting pretty far in Zelda's Spirit Tracks which is a really good game.

Gearing up for my trip to New Orleans. I fly out tomorrow afternoon, so this weekend and all next week will be portable gaming.

Dragon Quest 9 - This is just a fun game. Makes me wish I had finished DQ8 back when it was new. I did some reading, and it turns out you can build up a given character with basically any combination of class skills, up to 2,400 skill points worth if you take the time to do it. But, you can only really expect to get 200-400 by the time you beat the game's story. I hope there's lots of good post-game content.

Infinite Space - It's got issues, but it's also got some charm. I'll pop it in when I need a break from DQ9.

I may even grab something else, like P3P, if I wander into a store that has it while I'm there. Why am I going on a trip just to play games, you ask? It's my girlfriend's business trip, and I'm tagging along. I'm sure we'll have some local-flavored fun, but it's mainly an excuse to get out of the house.

Maybe I'll turn on the ad-hoc business in DQ9, and walk around the city looking for other DS connections.

Persona 3 Portable - This was one of the games that I was looking forward to the most this summer, and I've barely played it so far since I've been trying to finish the next game this week. Hopefully I'll be able to correct that this weekend after finishing:

Trauma Team - I'm glad that I finally got a chance to rent this during a break between new releases since I'm really enjoying it. I'll definitely buy it once I see it for a bit cheaper. I think I have around 15 episodes left, but I'm not really sure. The forensics missions are really making me want a Wii Ace Attorney game that adds even more to the investigation parts of Miles Edgeworth while bringing back the trial stuff.

Dragon Quest IX - I haven't even opened it yet, and I probably shouldn't check it out until I finish some other games, but that's never stopped me before.

It's my girlfriend's business trip, and I'm tagging along. I'm sure we'll have some local-flavored fun, but it's mainly an excuse to get out of the house.I did that a year or so ago when I went down to Ft. Lauderdale. It was a business trip for my wife so I just tagged along for a vacation. Saw the sights for the first couple days and then I got to hole up in the room with my laptop and games for a couple days while she did conferency stuff. Good times :)

In a little less than 7 hours, I'll be on vacation until August 3. WOo! I'm heading up to the cottage on Sunday for a couple days... though it will be myself and my parents vs. 4 kids ages 3-6. Pray for our souls...

Assuming I survive that, much painting and renovating of the master bedroom will ensue with a nice break for the Star Wars In Concert concert on the 24th. Yippee!

On the gaming front, I've got a few things on my plate.

Dragon Quest IX (DS) - I've made people for my party and am ready to hit the wild world and die a lot. I wouldn't mind getting the DQVC open one of these days either.

P3P (PSP) - I'm hoping that this will help dull the pain of corralling 4 kids for 3 days in a cottage. I've made it to somewhere in the mid 20's as far as my ascension of Tartarus is concerned and I think I'm pretty close to getting Akihiko back in fighting form and in my party. Unfortunately, half of my crew is sick right now, so I need to get them nursed back to health...

Crackdown 2 (360) - Futzed around with this a bit last night. It's pretty fun in the Crackdown sense of the word. It's definately a game I wouldn't mind owning... for about $25-30, tops. I'm not sure if I'll stick with it for long or not as my mind tends to drift back to the portable RPGs I'm working on while I'm playing it, but I'll probably fart around with it for a little while longer tonight and try to snag a few more agility orbs. Am I wrong, or wasn't there supposed to be a female Agent option? I was curious to see how big and manly she'd be :)

Bioshock 2 (PC) - If I don't play this over the weekend, it will definately be one of the games I'll do my best to finish while on vacation. Same with RDR and possibly Alan Wake.

Neir (PS3) - I have this sitting on my shelf gathering dust from when my rental guys shipped it to me a month ago. I think I might fire it up over the weekend if only to see what it's like and if it's something I could see myself spending time with later on... when the price drops :)

Persona 3 Portable - This is my current obsession. Though I'm playing this game for the fifth time, so much is different that it keeps surprising me. Other than that, there's

Dragon Quest IX - Also tons of fun. I wish I didn't have Persona competing for time with this. Especially because my wife is playing DQIX obsessively, and I would like to play with her.

Panzer Dragoon Saga - Borrowing this from a friend to see if it lives up to the hype as one of the best RPG's ever. So far, it's somewhat interesting, but I'm not quite seeing the love. The graphics are horribly dated, which is not a dealbreaker, but the gameplay hasn't quite sucked me in as much as I expected. We'll see what happens as I progress.

Persona 3 Portable - I just made it through the second block, and am approaching the second Full Moon at June 8th. I'm enjoying this a lot, but there's some weird bits about the female playthrough. Like, why is it so hard to raise her Courage? My Charm is halfway to Level 5 already, and I just got Courage to level 2.

Numen: Contest of Heroes - I have to get back to this.

Bully - I dunno. The more I play this, the less interested I am.

Since I didn't mention it in the weekday thread: congrats to Purple on his job! Enjoy your vacation.

This weekend, I hope to enjoy:

Dragon Age: Origins - Xydarc the City Elf Warrior is about to recruit the Circle of Mages. Yet, access to the tower is cut off. What is going on inside?
Persona 3 Portable - Time to lose my Persona 3 virginity. As the FemC.
ModNation Racers - Gonna build a new track. Seriously. And try to hit level 13.

Oh man, I loved Bully. It reminded me of school as a kid with seasons changing and all that. A little bump of nostalgia as I played.

Now, my school wasn't like Bullworth, but the overall feeling of childhood academia resonated with me. But it is still originally a PS2 game, so it's a bit rough. Bully 2, I think, will rock harder.

I'm just getting over a nasty case of strep throat, 104 degree fever yesterday was not fun at all. I'm probably going to try to push through the end of Killzone 2, and if I finish that, start up some Assassin's Creed 2. Otherwise, I really need to get more time with MGS: Peace Walker.

Because she's a girl and girls are scaredy-cats and need a big strong man like Junpei to protect them from the scary shadows :)

Or maybe it's that you aren't working enough shifts at the coffee shop.

Hmm. I wonder... It would be interesting if the female protagonist had a harder time raising her courage but got her charm levels up pretty easily... if the male protagonist had it reversed. Definately would shed some light on the mindset of the programmers...

I think they're having the mother of all tea parties in the Mage Tower. At least, I am pretty sure that's what they were doing when I worked on that quest lo those many months ago.

And I'm with J. If this is your first time playing P3, stick with the Male protagonist. Seriously... FeMC is only for us ragged old Persona trollops who have been up and down Tartarus too many times to count.

I don't know. Charm was the last thing I maxed out, though it was never far behind the others. I just finished maxing all my stats, and I'm about halfway through September. To be fair, I've focused much more on stats than on social links, since I expect to play through again.

Don't forget that the places in the strip mall (like Wild Duck Burger) seem to increase your stats "greatly" but most of the others just do normal increases. And like Spigot mentioned, working the coffee shop on MWF is good for increasing charm and courage.

Oooohhhh man, I have next week off work and it shall be full of gaming goodness. I plan on playing the crap out of Dragon Age: Origins, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, TF2, and Borderlands. I also plan to do some reading in there and maybe even some house work. We'll see but either way, it'll be an awesome staycation.

I need to start hitting the strip mall for stat boosts but I am usually too busy hanging out with friends or mollifying the elderly booksellers to worry about eating.

Social links FTW!

I still kind of wish there was some kind of meter where you could see how close you are to raising Stat X or Social Link Y so you'd have a better idea about what to spend your time on, but I guess part of the charm is never quite knowing if your action will boost something or not.

I slept like crap last night. My child was half crying in his sleep, or fussing. Wouldn't stay alseep. Brought him into bed and he'd sleep for a half hour, if that, and start crying again, and this kept happening. I think it must be his teeth still coming in.

I got up before 4 AM and gave him some Advil but that didn't seem to help. Got out a bottle for him and he didn't want it. I actually woke him up out of his half-sleep fit and we called to the kitty--it's a trick I use in the early morning or to get his attention elsewhere, and it works. He sat up in bed and pointed at the cat, all awake now. He wanted to get down so I held his hand and walked out to the top of the stairs. We went down and watched about 2 minutes of Phineas and Ferb and he was already snuggling back in to me. Took him upstairs, held him like a teddy bear and he fell asleep. I woke up a bit after 5 for work, exhausted. I drained a glass of diet Mt Dew since we had no coffee brewing and I didn't have the energy anyway, and now I'm sitting at work drained.

But he woke up this morning all happy and everything. I'm sure he had a nice nap this morning at his grandmother's, who is watching him today, while I have to suffer!

Anyone want to fill me in on how long A Crack in Time is? About 10 hours? I want to deplete my Goozex funds and figured I'd pick it up. It's a bit pricey right now at 850 pts, but I have 3400 pts I want to burn. Might snag God of War Collection for 650 as well.

I know the concensus for White Knight Chronicles isn't great...but anyone really enjoy it? I'm debating picking it up just to have. I've been collecting most JRPGs this generation and I really love Level 5.

Also, before I forget, I need to print out the July Reward Zone coupon for FFXIII. Apparently it's on sale on Sunday for $40, but with the coupon it brings it down to $20. Just like with Blur a few weeks back. Might have to snag it.

EDIT: Guess the coupon isn't live until Sunday or something. Grrr.

Last but not least, I'll be playing BEER DRINKING.

What a coincidence! I'll be playing that game too! :D

Other than the aforementioned, I'm not sure what I will play this weekend. I really haven't felt much like gaming lately, but I might try to break that by just playing whatever strikes my fancy instead of "having" to play something because I "need" to finish it. I think that's part of what has killed my interest in game - I've turned it into work.

I went to the co-op today and bought some yummy food. Black grapes finally came in, so of course I snagged a bag of those. I also bought a big bag of cherries (those are so expensive!) so that I can test out the "Cherry Chomper (http://www.amazon.com/Talisman-Designs-Cherry-Chomper-Pitter/dp/B001Q9EK1Y)" that I bought a couple of weeks ago. I haven't been able to eat anything with a pit because of the braces, but this should alleviate that problem. I also got some extra sharp cheddar and some bread on which to enjoy the raw butter a friend gave me. It is wonderful stuff.

Speaking of my braces, I had an appointment at the orthodontist today. I found out that I should be getting my braces off in two or three months as long as my balance is paid in full. I still owe $1,348.

Well, I thought I was going to have a good weekend. Tonight’s round two with the Gorgonzola girl (and thanks to astranoir, I’d a broccoli and tortellini salad recipe to try out) and I finally got around to renting Fable 2 (yes, I’m that far behind). However, just as I go in to start preparing dinner... I find my kitchen floor is covered in water.

Looks like at least part of my weekend will be spent trying to figure out what's leaking, and how - if I even can - to stop it. :(

In a surprised development, my girlfriend is completed addicted to the copy of Pokemon Gold that I got in the DQIX Kmart deal. She actually went out today and bought a copy of Silver for me so we could trade.

It's pretty awesome. She gives EVERY single Pokemon she catches a name, unlike me who doesn't name any.

I loaded up Heavy Rain. FUUUUUUUUCK. Wow. What an atmosphere. I really, really like what I've played so far.

I doubt I'll play too much more of it, because I have another wedding to go to this weekend. It's going to suck since it's a Catholic wedding with a full mass, but it will be awesome because it is an open bar.

I went to my cousin's wedding last fall. Our side of the family his Protestant (mostly Lutheran), hers is Catholic. The bride of course got her way and the wedding was held in a cathedral in Chicago. It was somewhat amusing since one whole side of the aisle was Catholic and knew all of the rituals. They kneeled down, then stood up, then sat down, then kneeled...etc. over and over again. I wouldn't be surprised if they all have early-onset arthritis at some point. :D

The entire ceremony was odd, to say the least. I don't go into a church very often, let alone a Catholic one.

Wasn't it you that recommended to avoid Social Link guides? I plan on following that advice too.

Not quite. I actually advocate them the second playthrough. For example, when I first played P3 (not FES) and P4, I ran through without a social link guide.

The second time I played P4, and now with P3P, I use them, because I want to get everything, damnit.

If you're OCD about getting *everything* on one playthrough, use a Social Link guide. Be aware that with P3P the schedule is *tight*, which means you're stuck with having to do all your dungeon crawling for a game "chapter" in one night, which can get tricky.

I bought Deadliest Warrior.
And it's good. Ya I know, I am as surprised as anyone else thought. It is actually damn enjoyable if shallow.

Also really enjoying Onlive on my netbook. Really amazing tech at times. In fact I am just impressed. The lag on some games just IS NOT THERE. Dirt 2 is amazing to play on a netbook, even if its just to tech test it.
Other games have a couple issues. But for particular users this is actually really fucking good.

Ok, so now I´m playing

DEATHSPANK!!!!!

Which is awesome. And funny, and looks great, and has great voice acting.

I ploughed away for 4 hours on Last Remnant yesterday. Which is still great, the story makes some funny turns at this point but the overall experience with the story telling is that´s it's pretty well done. At least a lot better than most JRPG which feature voices. It just hits the right notes without ever becoming whiny, too angsty or too lenghty and boring. Just cool stuff and war talk intermixed with some emo, which how a JRPG should be. And it actually makes sense (looks at FFXIII, frowns) which is a nice thing in a JRPG, sure it got magic, mages, remnants, evil nutcases, etc. But it never tells you shit that makes you go WTF?

Square Enix should be shot for using the engine they did, with the right tools this could have been a lot more appealing to the JRPG crowd. It's probably the best JRPG coming form SE on normal consoles this gen.

I did that a year or so ago when I went down to Ft. Lauderdale. It was a business trip for my wife so I just tagged along for a vacation. Saw the sights for the first couple days and then I got to hole up in the room with my laptop and games for a couple days while she did conferency stuff. Good times :)
I really wish I had a laptop for the trip, but there's just too much that needs money spent on it right now. But I can imagine how lovely it'd be. I'd load up some Steam games on there, maybe some UFO: Afterlight, and I'd be happy as a lark.

But, my DSi and PSP will do for now. I'm (supposed to be) packing right now. The handhelds look so cute lined up on the bed with their chargers. :p

Uncharted 2: I'm really enjoying my 2nd playthrough (on Hard this time). I'm using a guide to find all the treasures and trying to get as many of the trophies I missed the first time. Although I keep trying to get certain things only to find out there isn't a trophy associated with it (like 5 stealth kills in a row). I need to pay more attention to the medal list.

But I'm heading for the train. My favorite part in any game ever.

I might play a little more inFamous, which I've barely scratched the surface of, or FFXIII (I finally left Gran Pulse after completing 15 missions).

I beat 3D Dot Game Heroes this morning and booked all but two creatures. I tried many times to book the Dark Knight boss of dungeon six, but his sword charge still hits me despite blocking with the Hero's Shield. When I went on gamefaqs to find out he took 70 book hits (I was getting around 45-50), I said fuck it. The other creature is the Succubus. No reason to grab him if I can't get the other.

I played the Deathspank demo. Liked it, but am debating if it is $15 dollars worthy.

I started Mirror's Edge of the 360 and got through the first three chapters. I love the atmosphere, graphics and sound, but am having difficulty with some of the 1st person platforming aspects, particularly wall running.

I'm having quite the exciting night here. The sky darkened an hour or so ago, much earlier than usual. The sirens have been going off for about thirty minutes. Apparently 90 mile per hour winds will be here any minute, and several tornadoes have been spotted around the state.

Long day at the amusement part. Big family and company picnic day. Got on a "helicopter" ride with my boy and he really liked it, but was afraid of the Carousel, go figure. It was extremely hot. I'm becoming a pretty dark guy this summer between yard work and being outside. When I lived in an apartment I was white. :)

Anyway, my son has been on cow's milk, or at least weaned from it completely, for the past couple days. Might have to do the weaning a bit longer because his poop today was like a hard adult's. He was cranky tonight and yup...another hard poop. Feel bad for the little guy. If it keeps up I'll try soy milk, but I think we're going to try another can of older baby formula to mix up. It's apparently normal for this to happen during the weaning process, but I still feel bad for the slugger.

Played some Just Cause 2 tonight and still addicted. Great game, but I should play something that I can actually complete. JC2 playtime is up to 13 hours and I haven't accomplished anything story-wise.

You're weaning the little guy off the tit?Kel's been getting jealous.

We went out today and bought a new bed. Woo! We actually got a good deal on the bed we got without sacrificing comfort and given the fact that our bed is over 11 years old and we're having a hard time getting up in the morning and not feeling like an 80 year old, it's time for something that gives us back support.

We also got some new pillows... my wife's pillow cost $120!!! Mine was only $30 because I got it for half price but man... that said, it feels great. The owner of the game shop next to the mattress store said he tried one and, in his words, "It's like someone is making love to your neck."

I hope that's a positive statement...

I'm giving my son a replacement DS for the one he destroyed in a fit of pique about 3-4 months ago while playing N+ so that he has something to play on the way up to the cottage tomorrow. That said, I'm starting to wonder what happened to all of his DS games. He had Pokemon Diamond, NSMB and a couple of other games. I can't find any of them... Except N+ and Nintendogs. Of course, I'm trying to remember if I sequestered them away in some hidden location until the day he got his games back OR if he lost them. If only I hadn't been spending the last couple of weeks emptying out the crap in our bedroom so that we can renovate it while I'm on vacation... grr...

Also, does it strike anyone else as odd that 11 years is now considered "old" for furniture? That's nothing against Spigot, I just find it sad that everything is such shit these days that we through it out after a few years and replace it. *sigh*

Also, does it strike anyone else as odd that 11 years is now considered "old" for furniture? That's nothing against Spigot, I just find it sad that everything is such shit these days that we through it out after a few years and replace it. *sigh*Well, the game store is right next to the mattress store and it's the non-EB shop I like to patronize. Amazingly, I didn't buy anything...

And an 11 year old mattress and box spring that two people and, on occasion, their kids sleep on (not to mention all of the jumping that the kids do on it) is old enough for me. To be fair, we also did buy the bed used back when we got married (another couple owned it for about a year but it was too firm for them) so it's even older than that...

We also did recently replace our couch and chair... the couch was a leather couch that my parents bought almost 20 years ago and I gave it to my brother, so it's still in circulation. The chair was something we got for free at a garage sale and had seen better days, so I wasn't sad to see it go.

I figure that 10 years or so is a fine life span for a bed, esp. a well used one, if you catch my drift....

I watched an episode of Law & Order: SVU about that yesterday. Does he keep a set of bloody hat pins on top of the cupboards? Have there been a lot of dead prostitutes in your area lately?

I can neither confirm nor deny the veracity of either query. Please try again later...

This new DS is a phat just like his old one and so help him if he ruins this one. I'm never buying him a game/system again if he actively destroys this.

Don't forget, FFXIII is $19.99 at Best Buy this week for PS3 and 360 if you use the Reward Zone Gamer's Club Coupon. It's a $20 off coupon and FFXIII is $40 this week.

Your mileage may vary since coupon isn't supposed to be stackable with a sale, but it happens all the time at Best Buy and it works 99% of the time. If your cashier is a manager dickhead, you might have different results.

Sign up for Reward Zone for free on BB website. Can't link to the coupon, too lazy. I don't have a printer but I'm going somewhere today that hopefully does.

Is everyone too busy playing Persona, or are we lost without Purple Santa?Yeah, sorry about that. I've been busy and what free time I've had I've spent working on DQIX.

I sent Crackdown 2 back today. I had some fun jumping around again last night and chasing down orbs and even caught my first renegade orb, which was quite satisfying as they are NOT easy to grab. That said, I was a little bored by the end of my second night with the game and kept wishing I was playing DQIX or P3P instead, so that obviously is where my brain wants to be right now.

It's not a bad game, but I couldn't see myself spending $69 on it. $25-30, sure. And to be quite honest, I'd rather go back and work on the first game some more as I liked the transforming cars and brighter colour palette in Crackdown 1 over the freaks and non-transforming cars in the second.

On another note, last night was the first reception I've ever been to where I literally wanted to murder the DJ. Just an awful, awful guy. I reached the point of sanity as I usually do with my sandbox/open world games. In good judgment I am sending back RDR and TS3. I love them both but I looked at some of the requirements to 100% TS3. I thought I would find it fun to try but I don't think it will be. No fun then...back it goes. I've obsessed over both games enough. It feels for both it was more about the 100% than having fun. So having decided that on Friday, I started another open world/OCD agitator game Lego Harry Potter. I rarely stick with a Lego game that long. I enjoy them but I seem to move on quickly. So far i've stuck with LHP longer but I think that's due to liking the books so much. This is another one for the Spiggle household i'll recommend.

Aren't we all if they ever catch on about how much goofing off really occurs at work? If you need cables for the PS2 you're sending Mags let know. I'm sure I have spares I can send you.

I was hoping someone would have a spare set in their closet. I'll PM you my address. Thanks!

See this Mags. We are trying hard to have you become "one of us"

Picked up FFXIII for $20 at Best Buy. Score!

Too many games to play. But man, BB has been treating me really good recently with all these deals. Blur was a couple weeks ago, now FFXIII. Scored a couple in the past months as well but can't remember right now.

There really is no reason to even contemplate $60 games these days. Great deals abound.

Little by little you guys are going to pull me into the fold. :)

In other news, my grandmother added me on Facebook today. This prompted me to finally create a "List" for all of my family members so that they cannot see most of my personal information or many of my photos. The really incriminating stuff was removed when my mother added me back in 2008, but I still thought it was time to limit the rest so that my prying family can't see all of it.

I also took the opportunity to delete a few "friends" whom I don't actually talk to as well as leave several of the groups that are always spamming me with annoying messages and invites.

Meanwhile the physical cleaning of my apartment has been practically ignored all weekend. :o

I think i'll wait when FFXIII is really $20 with no sale shenanigans. By the time this happens I wonder if you will have unwrapped your sale copy. Just asking :p

I have to check to see if I was part of the MagGnome FB purging. I'm getting a box of tissues ready for the news just in case :p

I don't play around with my FB enough but I didn't know the "lists" you could censor stuff from people on those lists. Not that I have to worry. I'm pretty boring on FB. Still...interesting concept. I really like to see what my boss posts all day long since she's constantly stating she updates all day long.

That sounds incredibly nice.
I've had the replacement in storage for a month or so. I figured that it would be nice to give him before we headed off on a 3 hour car ride.

And it's a phat that I got for $30, so I'm not going to be out a fortune if he does break it. He was having a lot of fun with Kirby's Canvas Curse.
You're not excited about or buying Valkyria Chronicles 2?I keep forgetting that that is coming out this year. I think the only games I'm really looking forward to this fall are Etrian Odyssey 3, VC2 and MAYBE AC2:Brotherhood. At least, those are the only ones that come to mind.

Oh, and as long as the beta tests are favorable, I'll be getting FFXIV.

I will get SC2 sometime before the end of the year but I'm not chomping at the bit for it right now.

Oh, and to further highlight how much damage I've done to my kids, my son started singing "Reach Out To The Truth" acapella today as we drove up to the cottage. Yes, my kids sing the P4 battle theme when they're bored. Sigh.

I have thoughts of this being really cute, some father and children bonding then it goes to the other side of thought where it becomes disturbing to know they have watched you play so much P4 they know the theme song by heart. I think i'll just not think about it at all :p

Nah, it's nothing that bad. We just listened to the P4 soundtracks waaaaay too much last year in the car when we'd drive back and forth to the babysitter's.

The only games I'm looking forward to from now until the end of the year are Civilization V and Elemental: War of Magic. At one point those were must-buys, but at this point I'm not sure if I will be buying them at release or not.

I've been playing a lot of Desktop Dungeons (http://www.qcfdesign.com/?cat=20) this weekend. It's a simple roguelike, but it's a lot of fun!

Doh. I forgot about the soundtrack. I better call off the Canadian Mounties then. If there are some officials knocking on your door just explain it was a misunderstanding

The Grand Old Creamery is a great ice cream parlor around the corner. They just added pizza, and they deliver! They left a flyer in my lobby promising a free pint of ice cream with a pizza. I just ordered a veggie pizza and a pint of Mexican Chocolate. Only $15! I gave the guy $3 as a tip even though he was weird and the pizza looked like he had opened it, haha.

It's here now, so time to eat!

Yes, Santa, I'll be having a beer with the pizza. ;)

Mexican Chocolate? I can't be the only one who thought, that sounds like something from Urban Dictionary...

Probably will, as I have most every JRPG released this generation and haven't beat a single one. It's a weird collect-only type of thing this gen. Doesn't help that this gen started seeing me with less and less time to devote to a genre that seems to bore me as I progress further into any given game.

Sandbox games, on the other hand, add gameplay galore and have wound up taking the place of JRPGs for me. They used to be my favorite genre by a longshot, now I'm getting bored with a lot of their tired cliches and refusal to evolve.

FFXIII, we'll see how I like it. We'll see if it "evolved" enough for me.

Ha! I told a friend of mine that it is chocolate ice cream drizzled on a hot, young Latino. He liked the sound of that.

It's chocolate ice cream with pralines and cinnamon. It's decadent. The pizza was superb as well. I ate two slices and divided up the rest to take to lunch this week. Four meals out of one pizza is pretty good!

Ok, what did you do with the real PA? No sarcastic snarky comment? Just a simple nice comment. I leave for the weekend and someone had a lobotomy? WTF? :p

To round out my nerdity, I just spent the last hour or so working on the Gundam model that I started last year at the cottage. I've now got two arms, two legs and half of a torso. Sigh. Now to go work on DQIX while the glue hardens.

Today...after I freaked out most of the morning due to that AV scare, I was dragged to my wife's work to do "strong back/weak mind" labor that she couldn't trust her employees to do because they're FREAKING USELESS. Grr.

Then we went on a big long drive, came home. I played Numen a bit and ragequit for the day when it crashed on me, then I made BBQ Chicken and Scalloped Potatoes and Bean & Carrot mix for dinner, and I played P3P whist she napped.

Y'know, I never thought I would enjoy cooking as much as I do, but it's awful fun. As Questionable Content said (although he restricted it to baking) it's Science for Hungry People.
