According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is in the process of hiring crew to work on an unnamed Gargoyles project.

Gargoyles was an animated series in the 1990s, and it was good fun, though it was no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. (http://www.totalfilm.com/news/disney-develop-gargoyles-movie)

I enjoyed the Gargoyles cartoon the first couple years it was on.

Now, that's a name I've not heard in a long time... a long time. /Kenobi

Gargoyles was better than TMNT, at least to me.

Edit:If you haven't heard of Gargoyles in a long time, you need to spend more time at TV Tropes. The Xanatos Gambit is one of the core tropes over there :)

I think it would actually work well as an animated movie. Hellboy in the movies looks great and he's practically got the body shape and appearance you'd want for the Gargoyles. Just change the skin color, add some wings, and you're in business.

I'd love for Jonathan Frakes to reprise his role as Xanatos, even if it's live action.

You mean it's just in time to capture an entirely new fanbase. I don't think they're going to sell this one as "Remember the Gargoyles cartoon? We're making a movie!" Instead, they're taking a license they've been sitting on for years and deciding to do something new with it.

You burn in hell you goddamn savage!

Hell, I love the Turtles but Gargoyles was a better show. For Pete's sake, it managed to combine King Arthur and Shakespeare into one continuity, and have it work! In a kids cartoon!

This. A Thousand times this.

Less new movies more North American releases of the full series on DVD.

That could be the greatest thing ever, or the biggest piece of shit on the planet. I guess we'll see when it actually happens.

Wow, I just got some serious deja vu reading that... for some reason, this whole confusion seems very familiar. O_o

Well, that was happy news and then sad news.

Anyway, did y'all know that Elisa Maza was voiced by Salli Richardson of Eureka? I always knew that voice was hot when I was a teen.

Much better than TMNT, to me. Always loved the music, and making big holes in the wall while climbing.

For those who didn't click on the link I posted, this is just a Disney movie featuring gargoyles, and is in no way related to the cartoon.

That typo and your history of sexual perversion make for a disturbing image.

Gargoyles made me want to be a writer. Especially when Goliath, Eliza, and Angela traveled through time and space. Gargoyles con was in LA last year but I missed it.

Gargoyles was a bad-ass cartoon, really the last great early-mid ninties syndicated cartoons. Nothing else after it really has a similar tone to it. OTHER than Batman Beyond- then after that went away, there was really nothing left...except gayness...and pokemanns. Ya'll know what I'm talking about right? It really starts with the original TMNT, reaches it's height with ExoSquad and Batman TAS and then sorta ends with Gargoyles. The early 90's kicked ass. Super Nintendo...we were fresh off a massive victory in Iraq the russians decided to end that whole communist thing...gas was cheap...there was no internet to frighten and horrify us. The cartoons were good. Life was grand.

Comon, there is no way you can honestly compare Ninja Turtles to Batman TAS. They are nowhere near the same scale. Turtles were good because you were young. Batman was just good.

Well, no! You're not looking at things the same way that I am is all. Surly you don't honestly think that they are like the "same" as far as how a grown-ass man could find them entertaining... all I'm taking about is how kinda "starting" with the Ninja Turtles they shifted away from all the oblivious "cartoons" of the 80's that were little more than marketing gimicks for toys. Now, I know that TMNT were extremely successful toy-wise but people were still fond of all the characters - i mean WE just had poll about which one was our favorite!!
look...the early 90's kicked ass is all i'm saying. Proof?

Just because I have nostalgic fond memories of a toy commercial from my youth doesn't mean it was anything special. I mean, I have fond memories of Transformers. The Ninja Turtles cartoon was crap, and if it debuted today, we would be lumping it in with the terrible shows of today's youth.

Ah man..that was horrible. Got me all pumped up, then you yanked the platform underneath me.

Gargoyles was an awesome show. I loved the mythology of the show, it seemed deep at the time.
