What if Superman had grown up in a broken home and was feared instead of loved? If you were the most powerful being on the planet, what does it mean when you decide to do whatever you want? The Paradigm are trying to answer that question, but are coming up short on answers. So join us as we take a look at Mark Waid’s Irredeemable. If you want to read along, check out the book here (http://www.amazon.com/Irredeemable-1-Mark-Waid/dp/1934506907/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1278982600&sr=1-1").

J. Michael Straczynski's Squadron Supreme's Hyperion did this alternate Superman gone bad story much better than Irredeemable.
Too bad that series really didn't go anywhere interesting after dealing with Mark Milton's change from all American superhero to Dictator wannabee.

I don't know that I agree that Squadron Supreme was better. It is certainly another version of the idea. The Plutonian is clearly craving people to accept him without reservation, whereas Hyperion just thinks he should make the rules.

Yes, true it's another version. But the crucial turning point for Hyperion's Hero to Crazy was done much more convincingly. The Plutonian just seems batshit crazy from the get-go, it's hard to empathize with him.

They really expand on that as the series progresses. I encourage you to keep going.

I dig this book...a lot. The counter for it (the name escapes me right now) is pretty good too.

Incorruptible. In the show Rogue and I mention that we actually like it more than Irredeemable.
