Who else has succumbed? What (if anything) helps? I don't have time to be sick!

Garlic.

Trust me on this. You don't have to eat a ton of it, but this stuff does wonders!

I got my flu mist a week ago (am afraid of needles), so hopefully I'll be protected this season.

My illustration instructor got the flu over the weekend, she canceled class on Monday just so she wouldn't spread it to us.

I tend to be flu-proof though. But I probably just jinxed that by saying it.

Winters tend to be a conga line of colds with the kids around. :o

I got a flu shot a few weeks ago, but I seem to have caught a small cold. It's the small annoyances that send me over the edge.
Best of luck to those of you who get seriously sick. I don't know if I could handle something like that.

After getting a couple of different bouts of the flu this year, I got me a flu shot a couple weeks ago. I was still recovering from the most recent one at the time.

I don't know that there is much to do about it other than lots of liquids and rest. I usually can't keep hardly anything down during the flu, so I can only drink stuff. Not fun.

Get well soon!

Really, there is very little to do but let time pass, get sleep and plenty of liquids. Most interventions simply address symptoms (gargle with warm salty water, drain some through your sinuses, drink lemon/honey water, use cough drops or a decongestant, pick your nose, and the like). You will get healthy eventually.

Or die. One or the other! I'm such an optimist. :(

I won't get the flu until November 7th this year. :p

Shut your mouth with that bad juju talk. I cringe every year thinking about getting violently ill right before hunting.

I never get flu shots though. They can trigger colds themselves...nothing like injecting yourself with a little taste of the virus only to have your immune system lose the first battle.

I rarely get the flu and will take my chances sans vaccination.

I got a flu shot and I've been sick more or less since but this week is awful. I feel like I am dying a slow and painful death it hurts to swallow, my sinuses hurt, my head is clogged, and my glands are swollen. O and I'm nauseous. It hurts to breathe and I'm just achey everywhere. My doctors push big time for me to get the flu shot because of my asthma but this year I just feel like it has made things worse.

The best part is I can't even take off from my internship tomorrow because my field consultant is coming in to evaluate me.

I got a flu shot

I never get them. As others have said, you can get sick from them. Also, many flu shots still contain mercury as a preservative. That's a great idea! :(

Hope you get better soon!

Got my shot last week. Needlephobe, and no mom to make me do it (yay college!), but I sucked it up. Last time my sister got the flu, it turned into pneumonia -- and my asthma's far worse than hers, so it's not a chance I'm taking.

I'll broken record here for a second and just repeat my call for garlic. I think I've already stopped one episode of the flu (or whatever it was) my brother brought back from work, but I've found I've gotten better much quicker that way, too. But, if it doesn't work, the most you've lost is a few bucks. ;)
