Star Wars could be set to return to the big and small screen with story ideas and characters borrowed from video game The Force Unleashed.

While a TV series is currently being made, CVG report that aspects of the Force Unleashed video game – which bridges the gap between the two sets of movie trilogies – could wind up being adapted into the show or further movies. (http://www.totalfilm.com/news/the-force-unleashed-on-big-screen)

At least it's something a little different instead of a remake

While I like this idea better than the prequels...pass.

I'm done, George. You can't hurt my brain anymore.

Would love to see the Thrawn books made into movies, or some of the X-wing stories, get away from all Jedi and lets see some more space battles.

That said, I'll take anything Star Wars, and I do mean anything.

I was really interested in the little cricket Jedi I killed that had the extra robotic legs. Is he developed in any of the books? Felt shitty killing him and the other two Jedi in TFU.

I had a feeling they'd be doing this, ever since I found out that the Apprentice is modelled on a real guy.

Found out? Dude was in Battlestar... What kind of nerd/geek/whatever are you?!? I actually find the actor's look to be off-putting. Every time I see him I want to punch him in the face. But he did a great job in the game so I wouldn't begrudge him a starring role.

As much as I really HATE that pretty much the only settings for anything new in Star Wars for TV and Movies is the goddamn Clone Wars or the motherfucking 15 years between III and IV, I did actually like Force Unleashed and it didn't have too shabby a story.

I'd prefer they just kept it to the games, but Starkiller is not too bad a character and wouldn't begrudge a TV series about him wrecking the fuck out of everything with the force, like he's suposed to do (and failed to deliver in TFU).

Seconded.

Star Wars has lots of cool stuff to feature other than Jedis. The first few X-Wing novels were awesome, and could be made into a very entertaining flick.

ALL of the X-Wing novels were awesome. Although I agree, the first four are more 'movie' while the rest are more 'TV'.

Part of the reason I moved to LA is to get a shot at working on anything Star Wars. ANYTHING. I'll do motion-cap for Greedo. Whatever.

There goes hollyweird not being original again. Hey let's make this into a movie!!!

How the animated series be more compelling than the latest trilogy? No one can come up with anything bad ass in the same universe on their own?

Did anyone watch the new FU2 trailer where Starkiller destroys a whole army of Stormtroppers and androids? Fuck a real movie I want that exact same shit to be made into a movie. Best Star Wars stuff I saw in years.

Nah, can't say a film interests me. I know h ow the story goes.

Side note on that, how does he survive to be in the second game? Doesn't he die in the canon?

Meh, I prefer the first game over the comics. And the second game over the first.

That being said, the first game is perfect for at least a miniseries.

Highly resistant to lightsabers? Fuck that. Made me angry in the first one and looks like its only gotten worse in the second. Movie might be okay but its not a glowing club, its a chopping implement of the gods. I wish they'd make it act like one.

I do agree.

I can already foresee that since in the last game you wiped out the remaining Jedi (bar Yoda) that this game will get it's 'Jedi fight on' from you facing what it showed at the end.

I still agree, its an overused, cliche and rather unimaginative way of keeping Starkiller as the protagonist.

I see that more as a game mechanic than as a canon thing. Of course if they made a KOTOR film they would do traditional cut-through-anything lightsaber fights.

I can also see them using what they showed at the end but instead of Starkiller, it involves some of the other Jedi. Also, didn't the female dark Jedi survive TFU?

Agreed, but at least it's consistent with the Star Wars canon... In fact it's a better use that what they use it for in the movies. I always prefer how it worked in the Thrawn series (of course I was 13 back then).

I'm fine with Lucas doing anything as long as it doesn't move past Truce at Bakura. The books are so enjoyable, and every random decree he makes they have to shift around fix things. For instance, he changed what the Clone Wars actually were, and then said there can't be two Anakin's (even though he had already signed off on it).

I don't care too much about anything BBY really, so while I may enjoy the universe I'm not upset when he changes things.

While not a knowledgeble Star wars person. I could have sworn TFC was mentioning you wiping out the last few Jedi, ofc this could have meant those that the empire knew about, since obviously Yoda evaded that net. I get what you're saying though.

I also get the 'end thing' sticks with the canon, since it's been done twice or more already in star wars (with Jedi or not).

Maybe I just didn't see the necessity to make TFC2 all about Starkiller again. There's no reason they couldn't have struck out with a new period, protagonist and not rely on the 'we'll stay in the original 3 storyline cause it's the only part we think people like' mentality.

Still, I'll end up buying this, since I'm a sucker for a lightsaber and I enjoyed romping through Stormtroopers like cattle to the slaughter in the last game.

PS: Jonno, order 66 obviously sucked balls though.

Yeah, even when you take into account the amount of Jedi that defected, they still missed a lot.

I'm fine with it being Starkiller again, simply because I like how he's tied up to the start of the Rebellion. If they keep up that angle and provide a different viewpoint of that period without fucking with anything, I'll be happy.

And I know that I say this every damn time Star Wars comes up, but the sooner they start milking the Legacy comics for videogame material, the better. Between the Imperial Knights (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Imperialknights.jpg) and the One Sith (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:New_sith_order.jpg) you have plenty of opportunity for lightsaber action, but equally the story centres on Cade Skywalker, a completely dodgy bounty hunter type who is trying to escape his lineage. It's got just the right balance of all the awesome Start Wars elements.

I figure this time around he'd be trying to help the rebellion in the shadows. Not bringing Vader down on him while he searches for sexy girl.
