I'm surprised no one posted this earlier, but Circuit City is offering a $10 gift card and mini-strategy guide (includes coupon to purchase mega-strategy guide) when you buy the RE/CE of FallOut 3. Link here (http://circuitcity.shoplocal.com/circuitcity/default.aspx?action=detail&flashbrowse=y&storeid=2396966&rapid=610176&pagenumber=10&listingid=-2090832518&ref=%2fcircuitcity%2fdefault.aspx%3faction%3dbrows epageflash%26storeid%3d2396966%26pagenumber%3d10%2 6rapid%3d610176%26prvid%3dCircuitCity-081026).
They're also offering $10 gift cards for many other games: Fable 2, Little Big Planet, etc. Man, they really want our business.

Aren't they closing 150 or so stores to avoid going under? I'd say they'd want anyone business right now :) That being said, there's one a block away from me, thanks for the link.

Yeah, those gift cards aren't going to mean much when they finally fall off the fence and declare chapter 11. They're walking a fine line.

Chapter 11 is a reorg and you can come back and stay in business. Chapter 7 is liquidation and buh bye.

Correction, they are closing 150 stores BEFORE they finally go under. They have an entire business model built around selling DVDs, that pesky internet horns in on that.

Huh. Well, that's a sale for me. I'll look forward to using the $10 gift card on their going out of business sale, when it comes to that. ;)
Honestly, I haven't had the occasion to shop at Circuit City except for these occasional, ridiculously awesome deals (remember the Orange Box for $30? Holy shit that was a good deal) in years, because their standard stuff is usually stupidly overpriced compared to what you can get online or even across the street.
But every once in awhile there's a reason to go, and it looks like this is one, since I hadn't plunked the money down on Steam yet.
