I agree that letting them see a counter of people ignoring them would be great, but if they know specifically who, many of the people getting ignored would find a way to start shit with that person or harass them in other venues (IRC, Steam, etc.).

That's understandable. I am, of course, coming from my point of view, and I rarely contact CoG people outside of the site.

Head to the person's profile and just under their name it says "User Lists". Open that menu and there should be an option to "Add to Ignore List".

1. Go to your user page (your actual public user profile, NOT your own User CP).

2. Click on the "Statistics" tab.

3. Scroll all the way to the bottom.

4. Realize that the information is not available.

5. Come back to this thread.

6. Weep uncontrollably.

This Firefox vBulletin add-on works marvels. Much better than the built-in ignore on-site (no offense intended and YMMV on that opinion). (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7023)

Edit: I've never been one to "ignore" but I've visited several profiles today to do just that, in tandem with the above add-on. I've come to the conclusion that a forum is much like a large apartment complex, and most apartment buildings have a number of assholes in several of the units. Opinions will vary as to whom to put on such a list.

Edit Edit: I've begun ignoring myself now, too. It's for the best. :D
