This had better be an error in their system.

Slack3r78, the same thing happened to me with Dead Space. I talked to customer service and they were like, "Sorry, you selected X delivery option" even though it was clearly marked as a Release Date Delivery.

I cancelled all my Amazon orders and bought local. Fuck them.

Well, his delivery estimate is TODAY. So they better mail it with a rocket from their floating space fortress.

damn - that SUCKS. Got to love Amazon's Order it and Never get it service! There's a great Penny Arcade comic about this very problem - but their comic search is not functioning for me.

What I find most frustrating is the fact that you can order just about anything from Amazon and get it the day before it's in stock. :D With videogames? Cross your fingers.

Even over here Amazon has always been dodgy for video game delivery. They're a long way down my list of places to get games from.

I'm mostly pissed off that they advertised it as release date delivery if they can't fucking deliver. First time I've preordered anything from Amazon and, if it doesn't show, it'll be the last.

Haha, I'm fairly quick on the draw when I'm bored at work ;).

I've tried pre-ordering from a variety of places trying to find somewhere to spend my money other than Gamestop/EB. Sadly, I think Gamestop is the only decent place to pre-order, I've had problems with everyone else :/.

Eh, I like Amazon for orders. But I never get anything new/release day from them, just existing stuff that's out there and I don't want the hassle of tracking down if they have it in stock.

I love Amazon, but I'm never in a rush for my orders, so I can see how that would be an issue for some. I always choose the free "see it in a month or two" shipping option. :)

Funny story. I order the CE Amazon version of Fallout 3 including the digital clock - but I have to ship it to a US address, because you can't get it in Canada. So I used our dropbox in the States.

The funny part is, I ordered it when the exchange rate was good, now it is shitty, and because it's going to our dropbox: I probably won't see it for a week - and after they do all the taxes and duties it's prolly going to cost close to $200 canadian.

That fucking clock better be good. I could have got the goddam thing off Steam.

Sounds like you should have gotten the clock off eBay.

I pre-ordered Gears of War 2 from Amazon, because they had that $10 GC. And yeah, free shipping so.. maybe a week or two after release? We'll see.

I pre-ordered the regular version from Amazon with release date delivery, am not a prime customer, and they shipped it last night next-day and it came this morning. Been playing it a bit already.

Seems a bit odd, doesn't it? Not trying to be a dick, but why would I get mine, and not you...wtf.

I just bought it on Steam and it downloaded in about 15 minutes. Nice!

I pre-ordered the regular CE back in May, before they were doing the release date delivery. Even though I have Amazon Prime, they never got around to updating the delivery, even though they upgraded my Tales of Beedle the Bard CE and regular hardbound to the release date delivery.

What's even more stupid is that I ordered the CE guide as well (it's hardcover, and has other artwork). That shipped yesterday, and may arrive today, but likely tomorrow. I won't be receiving the game until Friday at the earliest, according to "Track Your Order" page.

Supposedly my Resistance 2 CE order is release date delivery as well, but I seriously doubt it now.

Wow, since when does Amazon suck?

I like Amazon just fine but in my experience they don't really have great shipping times. And since they've started a service promising Release Day Arrival for new games, they need to make good on that promise or expect unhappy customers.

I can understand when "2nd Day Air" ends up being 3 or even 4 day shipping. But when they say it will be at your house FOR SURE on a certain day, it better be there.

This. If it was just whatever shipping, I'd be okay with this. But don't promise me release date arrival and then don't even bother to ship it.

You mean the big green text that says: "Amazon Prime release date delivery is free"? Or the delivery estimate that states today?

Amazon is good about giving you a refund of some sorts for shipping problems. I just got my $6 back for Fable 2's release day delivery when the UPS man decided to read E instead of W in my street name.

Hmmm. I just ordered it with 1 day shipping. It had better make it by Friday at least. Perhaps they were just overwhelmed by the Fallout 3 greatness.

Seriously. For things like this that I know I'll want on day one, there's nothing better or more reliable than brick and mortar.

Sorry for 3mo, though.

When it comes to getting video games as soon as they are released? Always.

I love Amazon, but I never buy games from them. Gamefly has proven to be the most reliable way to get brand spanking new games on the day they come out, outside of just going to the store.

Why does everyone order things from Amazon? Isn't it easier to pick it up and not have to pay shipping?
Books and CDs tend to be a good bit cheaper than buying them at the store.

Because shit's a lot cheaper from Amazon usually, and you only have to spend $25 or more to get free shipping.

Free shipping and I save a couple of bucks on sales tax.

The free shipping limit in the UK is only £5 (7-8 USD). That basically makes anything free shipping really. And like everyone's said Amazon is a lot cheaper for books, CDs and DVDs.
