Apparently they've lost two publishing deals in a short time, worth about 34 million dollars. This party due to the global financial crisis.

They'll still be releasing both Just Cause 2 and The Hunter though, but they've extended the development time for Just Cause 2 and it should be released spring 2009.

Personally I didn't find Just Cause was that great, but it's always sad to see upcoming studios having to cut back on personnel like this.

Yeah, strange. I thought JC sold well enough.

I thought so too, and it might have. Regarding the two lost publishers they say one of them is out of money and the other one is shifting their focus over to licenses and games more suitable for a younger crowd.

Ah well, at least they're going on to their main sequel and that Hunter game.

Man....I really want JC2. JC was, IMO, the best sand-box game. Even Mercs2 was a step below what JC offered. I hope that keeps them going.
