I'm considering getting Oblivion, which is on sale on Steam now. I've played the game on 360, so I'm looking for some mods to improve the experience.
I want mods that mainly improve graphics and interface. Do you guys have any recommendations?

There is a great thread on here somewhere, I'll try and find it, but for now I'll leave you with this list (http://sites.google.com/site/ballofflame/balloffire'soblivionmodlist). For an interface mod though you'll probably want DarNified UI (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10763), I think it's pretty much the standard, and it's pretty damn awesome.
Edit: I think the big thread I used to have bookmarked must have been on EvAv, but there are a couple more on here:

I just bought Oblivion from the Steam sale as well. Thread subscribed. Embarrassingly enough, I had never subscribed to a thread before, so I had to look up how to do it in the FAQ :)

Holy shit man, who knew there was so much to tricking out your Oblivion. Cool flow chart.

That's a pretty damn good guide to getting a good base of mods for Oblivion. Pretty much everything I use that isn't a content mod is on there.

This flowchart needs to be sexified..
Loading up Visio.

The real reason that flow chart is hilarious is because every single move is 100% true. Follow it. Use TESNexus. Win.

Yep, that flowchart is eerily accurate.

I remember reading the massive list of changes for OOO and nodding my head in approval at every one of them.

This guy made an excellent guide and if you have demonoid you can download all of it in one package :).

For now I am just running with OOO. Seems fine so far, but I might try some of those graphical enhancements.

Yeah I may be going overboard with all these mods at once. I'm gonna load up the game tonight and see if they all work together. If it crashes I'm jsut gonna get OOO and the stealth overhaul. Then go from there.

Alright, just pointing this out.
Do not load up all the mods at once.
You'll want to install OOO/Morts/Fran's first. See if it runs. Then log out and load up a couple more, see if they work, then log out, and load up a couple more. You'll want to do it in small sections, piece by piece, otherwise you'll never get it to work.
In general, look at a load order guide and then install the mods in that rough order. So that you slowly put together your load order. If you try to install the mods all at once, it would be a small miracle for it to work correctly.
That said, went with the flowchart's recommendations and all of them worked for me. I've been playing a few hours without problems and the upgrades are great. I got rid of the combat mods though, unnecessary violence and Deadly Reflexes. They made the combat harder, but they forgot to add the fun to Oblivion's already horrifically bland combat. So I'll go find an archery and sneak mod and just rely on preparation and patience.

Bless this thread. I just snagged Oblivion from Steam's QuakeCon sale and was wondering what mods it needed. destoo's revamp of that flowchart is all sorts of sexy.
