Hey guys, lately I've been kinda branching out from my almost exclusively metal and post-rock library and have been enjoying My Bloody Valentine, The Decemberists, and The Arcade Fire. Can you guys let me know of similar bands? I really need some more. Thanks :D

To tell you the truth, I didn't. But, let me say here and now that Suave Peanut is the suavest member here. Ever.

I've never listened to any of the bands that you listed in the OP, but listen to Murder By Death and The Dear Hunter. Both really great.

Islands for sure. Arm's way is great, but Return To The Sea is one of my favorite of the last few years

Well, if you like My Bloody Valentine (Loveless is great), you'll likely dig Souvlaki by Slowdive.
Secret Shine (http://www.last.fm/music/Secret+Shine) - All of the Stars
Slowdive (http://www.last.fm/music/Slowdive/) - Souvlaki
M83 (http://www.last.fm/music/M83/) - Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts
Autumn's Grey Solace (http://www.last.fm/music/Autumn%27s+Grey+Solace) - Over the Ocean
The Radio Dept. (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Radio+Dept.) - Pet Grief
Air Formation (http://www.last.fm/music/Air+Formation/) - Daylight Storms
The Daysleepers (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Daysleepers) - Drowned In a Sea of Sound
Mahogany (http://www.last.fm/music/Mahogany) - The Dream of a Modern Day
As far as "indie" goes (I don't really listen to a lot of it in comparison to shoegaze, ambient or electronic-oriented music):
Beirut (http://www.last.fm/music/Beirut) - Gulag Orkestar
Mew (http://www.last.fm/music/Mew) - Frengers
Architecture in Helsinki (http://www.last.fm/music/Architecture+in+Helsinki) - In Case We Die
Minus the Bear (http://www.last.fm/music/Minus+the+Bear) - Highly Refined Pirates
Some other random recs:
Ochre (http://www.last.fm/music/Ochre) - A Midsummer Nice Dream
Obfusc (http://www.last.fm/music/Obfusc) - Cities of Cedar
Discuss (http://www.last.fm/music/Discuss) - Discuss
The Flashbulb (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Flashbulb/) - Soundtrack to a Vacant Life

I like Minus the Bear already, but how's their new acoustic EP?

Ask Peanut; he probably knows. He's a big fan IIRC. I haven't checked it out.

Shit I can't believe I forgot to mention Jets To Brazil. Perfecting Lonliness is a masterpiece.

Word has it Blake is finally working with a new, as-yet-unnamed band.
Also, thanks to everyone that recommended Slowdive. This is good stuff.

I just realized that I posted this thread after my computer speakers died :( A sad panda is me. I'll be sure to check out everyone's bands they've posted, it just might be a few days.

Indeed it is. Check out The Flashbulb's Soundtrack to a Vacant Life. Great, great stuff. The man behind that (Benn Jordan) also just released an album called Pale Blue Dot. Very mellow.
