So this is coming out soon. Who is picking it up? I am since I haven't played the first ChronoTrigger and I'm looking into why it is so popular.

I loved Chrono Trigger, but don't own a copy, so I am picking up the DS version.

This is coming out soon? Crap. Double crap. Too many games to play, they need to slow down.

Chrono Trigger is easily in the top 3 greatest jRPGs of all time. You really need to play though at least twice to try and get some of the additional endings.

This game is so good. Magus is one of my favorite videogames ever and I hate that because of a certain choice you can make that he isn't in any of the ending cinematics. Or at least wasn't when I had this version for the ps1. Sigh.

I'll be buying it something fierce and giggling to myself talking about the timestream and Gaspar and Balthazar and Melchior and Nu and how awesome Magus is and how lame Frog is and who the Planet's Dream could be.

Hmmm I got a PS1 version on my PSP.

how lame Frog is.

Pffffft.

Frog owns.

I'll probably pass on this actually, depending on what the reviews/guides for the bonus dungeon tell me. If it adds story I'll get it, if not I won't.

Incorrect on two counts. Magus is definitely in endings when and where it makes sense, and Frog is awesome.

I'll be picking it up.

Always wondered why Chrono Trigger was never released for the GBA, considering it was basically used as a handheld SNES.

Wow, ChronoTrigger is one of the Greatest game experiences of all time. Hell just the other day a friend of mine brought it up..

The Story and the graphics are soo good.. especially the music.

One of the best memories I have of gaming is playing Chrono Trigger.

Really?

I always chose to save Magus/allow him to accompany us, and when I beat the game the 'right' way he wasn't anywhere in the huge anime ending scene. I figured it was because you can opt not to take him, and that would mean you'd have to pay for/include two different versions of the same thing. I'd love to be wrong!

Also, Frog whined far too much.

First off, let us get this straight, Frog is 100% awesome.

Second, I am definitely picking it up, as it is one of my favorite games of all time. I still have the SNES cart, I use it to impress girls. The day I meet a girl who is impressed, I will ask her to marry me.

We are in the same boat. I'll be getting this and Castlevania. I know the latter is out but as someone said, "October is Brutal!"

Really?

That's probably the reason right there, the SNES version of Chrono Trigger didn't have those anime cutscenes. I don't know what they added to those, but in the good old sprite ending there weren't any conspicuous absences.

Except you couldn't return frog to normal AND have Magus in your party....

I am quite excited about this. The game's main theme was the recessional at my wedding.

Really just to hear the music...

Actually, I'll be getting rid of my 360 (barely touched it since I put down CoD4 in January) and picking up a DS just for Chrono Trigger.

And yes, the SNES endings can include Magus.

That... is.... AWESOME. Although, I dont think my fiance would go for it.

I was told I could pick out the song. She didn't know what it was until the ceremony. I was torn between the main theme, Frog's theme, and the Final Fantasy Victory fanfare (from FF6)

edit: Ask if you can pick out the recessional as a surprise for her. Lie. She will be too happy on your wedding day to care about that one small detail.

Hmmmmm, I might have to look into this idea. You wouldve really gone with the FF6 victory fanfare? Was it in a church?

Dang straight it was. The recessional song isn't usually as serious as everything before it. People are applauding and cheering during your walk out, it's not like they're listening to the music anyway.

I did get an instrumental version, though.

I can't see myself picking this up. I have the PSOne version and enjoyed what I played of it, but there's simply too many other games to play.

In fact, she will only use it as leverage to win every fight you guys ever have.

Right; I was talking about the anime stuff. As much of Magus in action as I can see I will. =)

Also: that's the coolest story in the world, TFO.

The both of you are in for a treat. It's a must buy really.

I'm pretty sure walking through the front door will still get you a copy of the game. Unless you have a very odd Gamestop that requires you to do such actions ;).

I'm going to pick this up since it's been so long since I played it. I'm sorry I sold the cart but money for future games is always the quandry of a gamer. Playing it again too since I have forgotten most of the plot...

I'll definitely be picking it up, as Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite games of all time. I keep my SNES hooked up, to this day, just for Chrono Trigger basically (well, Earthbound too).

Also: To Far Away Times will be integrated into my wedding (if that day ever comes)!

While I still have Chrono trigger for the SNES, I've gone through two SNESs and no longer have a working one :/.

I'm really excited for this game to come out. So nostalgic. I was so proud when I got the "hard" ending on only my second play through when I first owned the game. That was a freaking long boss fight.
