We've come again for another Monday night episode of In-Game Chat. We've already begun digging into the third-quarter motherlode of games, and tomorrow's release of Fallout 3 is only going to continue the trend, but it's a trend we heartily welcome. We'll discuss news and events of the week past and week to come tonight in the soon to be temporarily defunct live format, so join us now while you can.
The show starts tonight at 7 central and you can listen live by visiting ingamechat.net (http://incgamechat.net), or by placing this link into your favorite media player: http://lightningstream.surfernetwork.com/Media/player/scripts/player.aspx?call=wacv (http://incgamechat.net)
Give us a call at 334-272-9228, or you can get in touch with us by email through everyone@ingamechat.net, or by visiting the In-Game Chat room (http://www.bapenguin.com/chat.php).

Sad that I missed it (stupid work), looking forward to catching the podcast tomorrow.
For whoever handles this sort of thing, the Friday episode still isn't showing up in iTunes.

Given that I haven't registered over at IGC yet, and haven't said yet, I shall say here...
Top work on the show of late. Since the change back over to IGC it's gotten even better. The multi show method has given us some really interesting and amusing shows. The time you had to discuss the Max Payne movie and all other topics in that show made it a really good one.
Keep up the good work, all.

I'm finally caught up on the podcasts. Yay! I should have tried to listen to this at work last night but I was, you know, working, so it probably wouldn't have gone over well. It would have been much more enjoyable than the drivel I was having to listen to, but what can you do?

Thanks for listening and thanks for the compliment. We think it's gotten better as well.

It's okay, Spig. Listen when you can, we're just glad you're listening.

It's okay, Spig. Listen when you can, we're just glad you're listening.I love the shorter format. It's much more digestible for me. I do have a thingamajig in my car that I can use to listen to my iPod now, so that's also helping me catch up. No more lousy local talk radio for me anymore. It's all podcasts, all the time.

Just gotta watch out for the language, eh?

Just gotta watch out for the language, eh?Actually, I've found that a lot of the time, your show is a lot cleaner than the 1Up podcasts, which just seem to have people cursing for the sake of cursing.
You guys argue and when you do swear, it's not gratuitous. Of course, my son STILL has to pick those words out of the air of all the ones being spouted by people. Why can't he start saying, "Iteration" or "specular highlights"?

It's easy to tell what show you are listening to. In fact, during the live on-air broadcasts, you can easily tell we're trying to filter our wording. More pauses and stops during the conversation.
Swearing is just part of our natural vocabulary. And you're right, we don't do it just for the sake of swearing. To us, the words we use that would be considered vulgar are no different to us than any other words we use, really. Again, because of how natural it is for us and how it better forms our thoughts.
I agree that things can be talked about or discussed without the use of such language, but we've been having these discussions long before we ever started recording them, and this is just how it is for us.
Glad you enjoy the show, and maybe we'll give a mention to your son...what's his name?

Oh, don't worry about the language. I realized that you do have a 'clean' podcast for the on-air one, so I can actually listen to that with him in the car without having him repeat all of the bad words at me :)
Again, compared to the language on some of the 1Up podcasts, IGC is downright pristine. When you have people shouting, "Holy fucking shit!" over and over again, it does kind of make one wonder about the professionalism of the people doing it. Once is fine, but man...
But I digress. I love the almost philosophical tangents you guys get off on during the show and it's discussions like the ones you have on your show that make me want to grab the people at work (who dismiss games as utter wastes of time) by the lapels and show them that, HEY, there are deeper things going on with regards to gaming and the marketplace than just having your 8 year old jumping on mushrooms.
Oh, and my son's name is Garrett. And yes, I did name him after the protagonist of the Thief series... without my wife knowing why, of course. I also named my daughter after Starbuck in BSG (Kara, that is) but my wife sanctioned that as she figured it was better to know what kind of obscure connection my kids names would have from now on than to find out when they're 6 months old...
