What's that thing they say about the more things change?

That was pretty great. The end was a little cheesy, but overall it was pretty good.

If only Bartles & James were still alive to do one for McCain.

Pretty well done.

I can still remember all the animations done over the original back in high school. Good times.

My favorite part was when Dookie tried to hang himself. I always hated that guy.

Oh, dear Lord. I'd almost been able to forget those. I'd never actually seen the original. I just knew about it through everybody I knew running around yelling.

That parody is hilarious. It's even funnier than the Superfriends one, which I find impressive.

... That was genius.

I don't know why, and I feel dirty for it, but that put a smile on my face.

That was pretty great, as sad as some of it is. :)

Yeah, it's too bad they felt the need to go so far as to make it an actual political message in the end (as if that wasn't already perfectly clear enough from the rest of it), but I still felt it was funny enough to share. :)

Awesome for getting the whole cast back together. I enjoyed it. Also these guys may not represent Budwiser anymore, but is it possible they represent "Joe six-pack?" I mean I know Mr. Pack isn't as influential as Mr. Plumber these days but still.

Another excellent video a pal just showed me, harkening back to some old advertising:

Holy shit, that was great (though too damn long to get to the awesome).

I was a big fan of those ads.

Wow, that was awesome.

Why can't commercials like that be aired on TV instead of the crap political commercials we have now.

God bless Terry Tate, that campaign should never have ended. At least we get to hear more of him in Gears 2 soon.

I will be 31 before this year is over.

I just tend not to get "into" stuff like "wassuuuuuup". Everybody at work wanders in doing it, I watch with amusement for a few months, and then the next thing rolls in.

For instance - I'd heard people yelling, "Fuck your couch!" and "I'm Rick James, bitch!" for some time - I guess that shit aired in 2004? I only saw the actual skit (which is terrible) about 2 months ago.

Also, I never realized you were in Boston. I lived on the Cape for about 5 years of my childhood. I haven't been back in a few years, but I still have family out there.

The only part I didn't get was the storm. I mean, you can try to blame a lot of stuff on Bush (or, if you prefer, Republicans in general), but the weather? Really?

I took that as a dig at the whole "global warming isn't manmade/the science is inconclusive" line of thinking.. possibly a little Hurricane Katrina fuckup thrown in for good measure :)

I think it's more the handling of the "relief". Can't help the storms but being prepared and royally failing was under W's watch.

Watching the whole thing through made it comedy gold. Nay, comedy PLATINUM.

Well, technically, the science is inconclusive, but that's subject for another discussion. :p

I think it's more the handling of the "relief". Can't help the storms but being prepared and royally failing was under W's watch.

I suppose that could be what it is. But, I think it would have been more clear if they had shown, say, some guy getting sitting on his roof and surrounded by water, instead. That could just be me, though.

But it follows the setup of the original almost exactly. He couldn't press the buzzer on their building from the top of his house. I'm pretty sure it was just a Katrina dig.

Obama doesn't actually stop hurricanes, he just redistributes them.
