Halo 3: ODST is the topic of our most recent F.U.D.Cast and surprisingly, Jeremy didn't hate it! Overall, the game as a whole is a rather approachable FPS, if not viewed by members of the show as "Baby's first FPS". Past that, we comment on the acting, whether or not having the big names (and pretty much an important chunk of the Firefly cast) helps a game or hurts it, if the storytelling compares to a game like Half-Life 2, if too much gamma on your monitor causes you to see green (Jeremy's does), and much more. Curt wanders around, Drew chases after him, Jeremy has a music issue, Ryan can't find his bearings, and in the end, as we all knew, Javier is a loner. So join us as we find our way around New Mombasa and find that no - elevators aren't made for explaining story, they're used for traveling to the final stage.

I really enjoy the Halo series as Halo: CE was my first FPS and really blew me away. Saying that, I think ODST was fun and I enjoyed the story but I feel like ODST should've been its own game instead of a spin-off of Halo 3. Bungie kept hyping how different it feels playing as an ODST and how much weaker you are but, and maybe this is an issue only I have, I didn't feel any different really from Master Chief. And I beat the game on Legendary.

My only hope is if they do an ODST 2 is that they make it its own game, they set it in the jungle since they've already done an urban environment, keep the investigation elements in but have it so the Rookie finds a video chip or whatever that one of his squad mates dropped and plugs it into his helmet to see what happened, make it so I can actually stealth around and kill enemies that way and give the Rookie a goddamn voice. His character was pretty well-acted and animated with a lot of personality in his actions like trying to unbend the sniper rifle or throwing the mine and trying to skip it over the water, it's a shame that we didn't get to connect with the character more (supposedly the Rookie's original squad got wiped out on some planet and he was the only survivor, so therefore he had PTS and refused to talk after his squad got destroyed, this would explain it I guess but I don't know how accurate this statement is as I got it from the Halowiki)

Great episode guys, I was actually preparing myself for a giant Halo hate fest, but instead I got intelligent and meaningful discussion that you folks always deliver. Last time I'll doubt you folks, I promise!

Good episode, and it solidified the fact that I don't need to play ODST!

Interesting - what part of it brought you to that opinion?

You guys seemed to mention all the interesting parts. Everything else just seemed like more Halo, which I don't really need. On top of that, no matchmaking for Firefight means I really have no reason to play it.
