The collectors Edition looks pretty!

Microsoft says the Fable 3 limited collector's edition will include:
"A new quest: Uncover the mystery of the haunted forests of Silverpines and earn the legendary sword, Wolfsbane, deadly against wolves and balverines.
Exclusive location: Unlock a new region, ideal for settling down with a family and discovering new treasures.
Fable 3 playing cards: Created by Lionhead, these cards depict every type of character in "Fable III," including Heroes, royals, rebels and villains from across Albion and beyond.
Guild Seal Coin: The coin features a Good side (blue) and Evil side (red) to assist players in making critical decisions that will impact the fate of the world forever.
A new dog breed: Renowned for its loyalty, the Boxer is a brave canine companion worthy of greatest Queens and Kings.
One unique outfit: Unearth one male and female outfit from the mysterious, faraway land of Aurora, a new destination in your Fable 3 adventures."

Well if it's anything like the Fable 2 CE, they'll get rid of the cards, coin and big box. :p

Rumor has it that the collector's edition will be X360-only.

Looks to be that way.

I really want those cards and the outfit but I don't know if I want them $20 worth. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll fuck up again and have to email anyone who asks a code for the in-game LE DLC.

And then let anyone who writes in download the exclusive stuff. Still feel so burned about that, but I don't think I learned my lesson enough not to get this.

I may bite, too. I'm a Fable fan, and this looks rather snazzy.

I feel the same way, I might wait and see what kind of pre-order bonuses (if any) are offered first.

Do look like a book and don't include a story book. Hasn't Alan Wake taught you anything. :p People want books dammit.

I like how they do Fable on the PC, skip Fable 2 and then decide to put Fable 3 back on the PC. WTF?

This is good news for me, Pc all the way for this. I haven't turned on my 360 since lfd2 came out and really haven't wanted to.

Excellent, I'll actually be able to play it now! This was my one disappointment from losing the last 360.

I've been thinking of picking up Fable 2 again cheap. I've owned it twice and rented it once and I was never able to enjoy it. I want to try again for some masochistic reason. I loved the first, so it really bothers me that I couldn't stand the second.

I really enjoyed the open world and lighthearted feel of the second. It wasn't the most in depth RPG by any stretch of the imagination, but I still had more fun with it than pretty much any other WRPG or JRPG.

OK, I am confused, how is it viable to port Fable 3 but not 2?

According to RPS the PC pricing will be:

EU: $68.97 = €54.99 = £48.02

The headline and actual OP have pretty much nothing to do with each other. That's kind of odd.
Edit - I wonder if they will sell Fable 3 on Steam? I highly doubt it.

If anything, it would be GFWL, not Steam.

It's confirmed (http://lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2010/05/21/epic-fable-iii-journey-expands-to-windows-this-holiday.aspx) to be DD exclusive to GFWL Games on Demand

Yuck. I'll pass.
Edit - What is the DRM like for content on GFWL anyway? If it's anything close to the 360's DRM, then that's an automatic failure.

Ya know, I bought this game right when it came out and just could not get into it either. About 6 months later I loaded my save and found that I was just getting to the decent content. It was not fantastic but I did enjoy it overall. In the end I had three lesbian wives and owned every piece of purchasable property in game. I still making money from them and should probably pop my disc in to see what how my bank account is sitting.

The way I read it, it sounded like an expansion to Fable 2. "You get a new quest, a sweet sword, and a new region! Give us $80!"

That´s actually what we always pay for the normal edition in euroland.

"Since the Windows iteration will only be available in the standard version at retail (for just $50, might we add) and downloadable "exclusively" through Games for Windows Live Marketplace, all PC players will be able to access the extra quest, region, and dog breed that come with the Xbox 360's collector's edition. Between now and the game's fall release, why not take a look through these exciting retail mockups below in our gallery? Oooh!"
Now doesn't that seem like some bullshit. Basically, to get that extra stuff, you have to pay more on the 360. The PC people just get it for free. I have a feeling I'd rather save the money and get it on the PC.

Microsoft has been giving PC gamers the shaft for years. I wouldn't cry over one little bonus thing that those buying it on the PC are getting for "free".

Ha! I am just going to rent it on the 360. I don't really care about their DLC, as it will probably just be crappy sidequest stuff, and the items will either be Overpowered for most of the game, or shit after the start. I also don't like the Boxer breed of dogs. If it was the Lab, I'd be all over it.. but a Boxer? MEH.

Heh, yeah, it's SO expensive in Europe. I just don't know how those people ever manage.
