All right, I recently (an hour ago) battled my ancient, UD-1212-R tablet into working with my Vista machine (with XP drivers -- the hard part -- because Wacom won't write Vista drivers for it), but when I try to use it with any image software (My program of choice is the GIMP, although I experimented with others in solving this), I get a "Tablet Version Mismatch" error, and pressure sensitivity doesn't function.
This is problematic, because the thing is useless to me without sensitivity, and my XP machine -- on which I know it works fine -- is currently inaccessible.

Does anybody have any experience with this? Because if anyone can help me out, or give me some pointers, I'd be glad to have them.

Info: Tablet Model: Wacom UD-1212-R
It goes through a Serial port; I'm using a Serial to USB converter for it. (Same case on the XP machine on which it worked fine
I'm running Vista 32-bit.

I also have a Wacom tablet, but I have never run into a problem like this.

My suggestion would be look for a homebrew driver. They often will be compatible with multiple items/tablets, so that might be your best bet. I have used homebrew for flashdrives, but never a tablet, so I can't help you out with a link or anything.

Good luck!

Hey Gilius,

Did you have any joy with finding a driver? I've recently upgraded my dads PC for him and his old school tablet is not playing ball.

Any pointers to a working driver would be appreciated.

Thanks,

BuR

I believe this situation is called a "forced upgrade", or in your case, "dual boot into XP".
