Futuremark Games has announced that the second free content update for their PC shooter Shattered Horizon will be released on May 5. The "Firepower Pack" will be adding eight new weapons and grenades, with one being revealed each day on Shattered Horizon's website (http://shatteredhorizon.com/details/zerogravitycombat/).

Shattered Horizon is a zero-gravity shooter set in the debris field created after the moon exploded in an industrial accident.

Hells yes.

I know a lot of people haven't jumped on this, but you really should. This is one of the coolest damn shooters ever made, and drop dead gorgeous to boot.

Glad they are adding weapons, that was one of my few complaints. A really great game, more people need to play it.

Fantastic game. It really rewards thinking outside the box and has some truly cinematic fights.

In honor of this, Xerxes will give away two copies on Steam. I bought a four pack just cause it was on sale. :p

Just make post in this thread by 4/30/10, 11:59pm.

Someone slap the [GIVEAWAY] tag on the title. :)

Maybe we should try to schedule a night and get a few of us playing together? I bought it during the 4 pack with a few other guys, but have yet to actually play.

You want to try and make a regular Wednesday or Monday night date for this one?

I work evenings now, so any weeknight is out of the question for me, unless you guys want to play at 1AM CST.

I was thinking of scheduling a game for Friday or sometime this weekend.

For some reason I thought this game was a strategy game. I'll have to check this out.

I thought exactly the same thing. I think the name implies it somehow.

It couldn't be a strategy game. It doesn't have 'of' in the middle.

This is great timing though. We've got a LAN party coming up in a couple of weeks, and SH was a great success at the last one (due to the fortuitous timing of the free weekend and map pack), so I'm looking forward to more. I think I developed a reputation for zipping around stabbing people in the face, so the new mining pick should be right up my street.

Suppose I have a few copies to giveaway. I'll do it when I get home.

Does it have any form of single player tutorial at all, or is it POW, you're in space multiplayer! Sink or swim!

You can start a server in "practice mode", which is a game mode where all players are invincible, giving you a playground to run about and get used to the controls.

There's no tutorial (there's an option on the main menu named 'Tutorial' but that just brings up a screen showing the controls and HUD layout etc), but there are 'Flight Training' servers out there that have combat turned off allowing you to just fly about, get a feel for the controls and learn the maps etc.
