...Continuing my thread...
what should I beat next? I need to start crossing some stuff off my list. My backlog is way too big and I hope this will help motivate me.
Please rate my unfinished games on a scale 1-10. (10 being the best) and what order I should try and knock these games off.

Man this would drive me insane. I hate having unfinished games lying around.
Anyway, I'd say definitely beat Crysis Warhead. Only takes about 5 hours and it'll let you know if you want to go back and beat Crysis.
Also... Gears of War 1? Hurry up man, you only have a few days left to beat that one. Because once you do Gears of War 2 will appear on your soon to buy list :)
Also, how'd you score a copy of GTA6? :)

I would say immediately focus on finishing Beyond Good & Evil.

It's a bad habit. A very bad habit. It usually happens when those steam packages come out, and I buy them immediately.

What really surprises me is the amount of sequels you have that aren't started nor or the originals. If I have an unplayed game laying around, like Etrians Odyssey for example, I won't get number 2 until #1 is complete.
I'm not going to rank all your but here are my picks of 10's to play immediately in this order:
Beyond good and Evil (its short, get it done)
Deus Ex1
Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter 2 (I beat it in one day..about 12 hours)
Max Payne 2 (another one you can beat in a day if played straight through)
KotOR1
Fable1
Deus Ex2

If you are looking to cross stuff off, I'd recommend Fable. I was able to play through the first one three times in the first weekend it came out. Fun, but disappointingly short.

All very good suggestions. Also I want to make it more apparent that I have beaten Unreal (way back when it was first released (I just rebought the whole epic package on steam and installed it again) ) and both the Max Payne games... I wanted to replay them for the movie.
But Beyond Good and Evil would be a good game to finish. I already am a good ways in. Same with Dues Ex, a game I started when It first came out and never finished. I also need to beat both of those games anyway because their sequels will be out "soon".

I'm in the same boat, have a stack of really great games I have barely started. Some I play the tutorial and know the game will suck up so much time I stop before I get into it.
Pick a couple games, and make sure they are different styles. From that list I'd work on Beyond Good and Evil, Crysis Warhead when you need to shoot things, and Company of Heroes for some RTS action.
All of those you can knock off fairly fast so you feel like you are making a dent in the list, BG&E really picks up about half way through and you'll want to see the ending, Crysis Warhead can be done over a couple evenings, it's short. And CoH takes about 10-12 hours per campaign so not too bad.
Stay the fuck away from Oblivion. I finally got around to that and am about 90 hours in and have barely scratched the main quest, I figure with the rest of the main game and the Shivering Isles I bought for it too I have about another 100 hours to go.

Wow. Yeah I started it when it first came out and didn't make it too far before I realized I could be immersed in that game for a very long time.
BG&E seems to be getting a lot of votes.

This is the very reason I stopped buying games all the time. If you have an overwhelming amount, don't buy any new ones and don't ask for any as gifts. Play the ones you have or get rid of them. Remember, this is supposed to be a fun hobby, not a burden or something you have to do.
If you think you need a bunch of new games all the time, I recommend GameTap. You can get a full year for $60 and have access to more games than you could ever play.

I'd probably recommend Tomb Raider Legend from your list, was a nice change of pace for me from the normal shooters and RPGs I played, and while I was disappointed it was so short, that might be a plus for you, heh.
Was curious and went through my list on Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/users/Satertek/games_table?mode=own) and I've finished 45 games, have started but not completed 71 games, and there are 32 games I've never even started (most of these were bargain bin games, expansions I hadn't reached, or ignored single player in favor of multiplayer modes).
Dang.
Someone needs to write a website for exactly this purpose. (Marking what games you own, how far you've gotten, whether or not you've beaten it, etc.)

Can I interject once more? I don't mean to nag, but why do you have a bunch of games you aren't playing? You could save a fortune by holding off on new games and playing your old stuff. Really, I started making a list of new games that looked interesting to me with the intent of buying them someday. In the mean time, I played through my huge collection without adding more to it.
The way you guys are talking about this, it seems like your huge list is stressful and a lot of "work" that you need to accomplish. Gaming is about fun; there is no obligation to play every game. I used to get caught up in the same way of obligatory thinking until I realized that I didn't have to be feeling like I was under a mountain of stuff I was obliged to play.

It's less about work and more about guilt.
Edit: Okay, I'll explain a little more. Most of those games I *never* intend to go back and finish. They're not interesting to me anymore. However, they still sort of make me feel guilty about not finishing them. Especially the ones like Wild Arms 4 and Xenosaga 3 which I never actually played.

Well, thanks to your making me feel guilty, I put down Fallout, Dynasty Warriors 6 (and Empires), and Too Human to finish Lost Odyssey.
I've actually gotten pretty far along. I'm on the last area, and have almost all the skills and spells - I just need the last ones you get *in* the last area. I've done all the side quests, and leveled all the useless mortals to their last skills.
(Which is my real criticism of this game - I know it's part of the concept that the Immortals are supposed to be more powerful than the mortals, but seriously, by late game the disparity is ludicrous.)

I cannot understand how you can have time to play all that and are earning money to purchase them.
Honestly, I think people whose parents bought them a large number of games as a kid go a little crazy (that may not be Duke's problem, but it would be my guess). As a kid, I got 3-4 games a year, and I somehow got enough playtime out of all of them - or, I'd simply play my old games over again (I still haven't played Twilight Princess a second time, and I liked it a lot. I'd have played it 6 times by now were I still 12 years old). Nowadays, I buy about 1 game a month plus about half that much money spent on DLC stuff, and I feel like I'm inundated.

I say "need" to play because they've been so highly talked about. I never got games as a kid and could only have 1 system as a time. The PS2 was the first system I bought with my own money, and only bought the essential games for it.
My 360 I got for free. And the PS3 I've got the most use out of. I've always been a PC gamer.
So in terms of playing game, I want to play them to have an opinion on them. I don't want to miss good games. My turn around is fairly fast, games that I beat I throw right back on goozex. I do plan on playing all those games I just listed.
I will admit i can't help myself to steam games.

I was the same way as a kid, and I'm that way you're talking about now. It evens itself out, as some games are only about 10-12 hours, but then you come across those games like Fallout 3 or Persona that you can spend 100+ hours with.
For myself, I plan on buying maybe 8 games for the first 6 months of the year, home and portable, and that should be enough for me. Now, if I didn't have a small backlog, that probably would be just a bit less than I'd want, but with what I still have on the shelf now from sales last year, I'm good.
I can maybe see buying two games a month (not counting portable games) but more than that just gets ridiculous. Maybe if you're using GameFly for a lot of it and they're all short games, sure. Maybe it's just me, but I hate leaving games unfinished, if I don't complete a game it's a rare thing. If you're just going through and playing the first 5-6 hours of a game then moving on to the new release of the week that must be incredibly unsatisfying.

So agree Gorvi. So agree.
