Actually, do let this happen to you. I thought it was pretty damn funny.
This guy (http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?t=631191) got so shit faced drunk that he couldn't remember playing 4 hours of Oblivion. His tale is quite interesting. I've played a few games drunk but never have I done anything like this. Has this ever happened to you?

I've done stuff like that in Stalker after a few beers, not blacked out drunk though. always fun to get out the combat shotgun and shoot everyone in the Duty town in the face with it.
But that was some fine drunken NPC killing in those pics.

The pictures really made it. I love how its written as a stream of consciousness, slowly figuring out just what the hell happened the night before. It's like Dude, Where's my Car?, only everyone's dead!
I think I laughed the hardest at the dead horses and his wine collection.

It's nice to enjoy the drunken antics of others without getting involved myself :p
That article is hilarious. I wish it were more obvious when our TF2 people are drunk or high!

The sword name, the sheer amount of things he stole, and the caption "My bad..." and "Sorry bout that" make it that much more awesome. At least he also killed the adoring fan, that guy was annoying.

My greatest disappointment with Oblivion was that my murderous tyrades were not rewarded. In Fallout I can murder an entire casino full of people and walk out with good armor, ammunition, guns, and money. In Oblivion I just pissed people off.

Isn't that a reward in and of itself?

I remember the good old days. When I played every game drunk. And I was better! What has happened to me? I used to be Godlike when I was sipping on courage.

I call bull shit. I don't care how drunk you are, in 4 hours you'll either remember something or finally sober up. He said he came back from bars, not that he was still drinking while playing. looking for attention ftl.

Yes, I agree. I've already relayed this story to 2 other friends. We all had a good laugh. Hopefully he won't get to drunk and play Fable 2. He might end up with an infectious disease or worse......a child!:p

Can't you just laugh at funny stories and be glad the internet is a repository for them? Even if it's fake, it's still glorious. When was the last time you got black out drunk and did something hilarious? If it was recent and someone else told you afterwards, please share!

You've never actually hit black out before have you?
Are you even old enough to drink?

Pretty funny story.
The only time I have blacked out drunk while gaming I was drunk driving in Test Drive Unlimited. I woke up hunched over my logitech wheel with my Ferrari in a ditch and laughed really hard because of how much sense it made.

You've never known anyone to black out before, have you? 4 hours is nothing. I used to know a girl who would do all sorts of stuff around the house for hours and not remember the next day. A sad state of affairs.
That's why they call it blacking out. You do shit you don't remember. At all.

Doesn't everyone have a story from Highschool where either themselves or one of thier friends got so drunk that he acted like a dumb ass and everyone was pissed the next day?
Unfortunately in my story, I was the one who drank too much. I can tell the whole story, though only because it was told to me by others as I cannot remember that night at all. I do remember having to walk home the next day cause no one would come pick me up.

I've never blacked out, thankfully. But I've had friends black out and it's always interesting trying to explain to them what they did when they'll swear they did not.

You have it backwards. If you've been drinking for a few years, your tolerance is high enough that this never happens. Probably why I always remember my nights. I say with confidence that I can out drink anyone on this forum.

Eh, everybody I know who blacks out when drinking are longtime, heavy drinkers. Black outs are usually symptons of a problem, like drinking too much.

There's a great Dave Attell bit on blacking out.
"You ever go drinking and start blacking out, or as I like to call it, time traveling? You're out drinking, you black out, wake up at another bar drinking, black out, wake up you're playing the knife game with an Indian in South Dakota, shouting 'Yeah, loser fixes the tranny!' You black out, wake up, you're in White Castle, been working there three years and you still not the assistant manager. Your friends tell you to quit, but you can't, because you're banging the slow girl on the fryolator. They say she's a little dim, but those titties ain't dim!"

If your not a heavy drinker your are far more likely to remember things than not. When i was drinking heavily back in my first year of uni and such a long while ago i would forget bits of nights and things... but these days since i don't drink as heavily on the rear time that i do get really really drunk i will remember everything. Blacking out a lot is a symptom of drinking to much.
I've also never gotten this idea that being able to drink more is a good thing... you either are spending far more money than a person who's not, or doing far more damage to your self to do things you won't remember and on the whole have less fun than some one who can't drink as much... but then again people who like to talk about how much they can drink are for the most part idiots who's self worth is determined by, what is at heart, a pissing contest.
Anyways, on topic, fake or not that did make me giggle a few times

Youth, my friend. When you're young, you tend to place emphasis on irrelevant metrics of maturity. Drinking heavily is one of them. As you get older and the novelty of passing out and playing beer pong passes, you realize it's not about drinking a 24-case of Natural Light, it's about enjoying fine spirits and being able to drive home, sleep well, and wake up before 2 p.m.
That is, responsibility. :)

I had a similar experience one night with WoW. I logged in the morning after a big drunken binge and found my Troll Rogue hiding in the basement of some dwarf fortress.
I checked out my screenshots and there was a whole series of me sneaking into this fortress for no reason (no quests or anything), then dying, then coming back with my ghost and dying again.
In the final screenshot, I wrote a /tell to myself. It said:
"Secret fucking message dude: I'm totally lost. Why the hell am I even down here, and how do I get out? This game sucks."

Shit, I was black out drunk on Halloween. I have no idea what happened outside of a few vague images in my head. Apparently, I made many calls according to my cellphone, so I may face interesting repercussions tomorrow. Sadly, I did no drunken gaming that night.
Anyway, not remembering something totally sucks, so I'm never drinking that much gin in that short a period of time again.
