Hmm. Who's making it? Grin is dead. I can't view the trailer now so I don't know if it is mentioned. The first game was great.

I'd even go for a sequel to the Bionic Commando game on 360/PS3. I really really liked that game despite all the crap it got. It was just so much fun.

I think the team is based on old Grin members. I heard something like that anyway.

I really tried to like the new BC, but I really got freaking annoyed by the many instadeaths when I hit water or when I ventured to far from the path I was supposed to take.
It had potential, but just so freaking annoying.

I'm all over this if it's as good as the first RA. I really love that game, especially the soundtrack.

They added a jump function? Are they serious?

It's being developed by Fatshark, who so far have put out nothing, but they're doing that Lead & Gold game (PSN/XBLA/PC wild west deathmatch game). They're Swedish apparently, so maybe they're tied to Grin in some way. It's not the original Rearmed team, though, there was a story just a few days ago that the people who made that had formed a new studio called Might and Delight (http://www.mightanddelight.com/index.php).

Yeah, those could get frustrating and the radiation could be a pain. But I went in with low expectations because of the reviews and wound up really having a blast. Once I mastered the swinging mechanics I was like Spiderman. And fighting some of the flying bots and other mech enemies was pretty fun. I remember some areas where there'd be no ground for me to walk on but I'd be fighting enemies while I swung frantically around an area. I also enjoyed jumping from buildings, falling hundreds of feet and shooting out my arm to grab a tree branch the last second and swinging away ala Spiderman. It was probably the best Spiderman game I've ever played, and it didn't even feature him.

The last couple hours, and the ending, were epic to say the least. I think the game got MUCh better after the inital stages were past. I also learned to ignore the collectables early on as I kept going out of my way to get them and then dying. The checkpoints were sometimes too far apart for that sort of courage.

Yes, Fatshark is Swedish, and the company used to work for Grin as a sub contractor. They did the first game too, together with Grin.

I only discovered that the first one was on the PSN store because of this announcement. I quickly purchased it. I was a HUGE fan of the original on the NES. I played the crap out of that game. I only got to play a few minutes last night (halfway through the first stage), but it's exactly like the original game but a thousand times prettier. And it didn't take me long at all to adjust to the no jumping mechanic again. I primarily used the D-pad though. It's easier to aim the grappling hook. But man that game is awesome. Totally worth the $10. But watch it go on sale for $5 in a few weeks.

I never really played the original (well, 2 stages on the NES once), but I was amazed on how well it stood the test of time gameplay wise. Most retro games really lack lasting appeal to pull me through to the end if I never played the original, but I completed it and had fun all the way.

And it still get's an extra thumbs up for the graphics and soundtrack this time around.
