I really dig base-building RTS's, and figure I've played them all. Once I'm done with the single-player and some AI battles, I move on. I don't mind CoH (one of my favs), but after playing DoW2, I prefer more squad management. Though, the almost non-existent base-building in DoW2 is a low-point for me.
I tried SupCom1/2, but it's very plain. Very little variety outside of the upgrade paths, which I like. C&C 4 is horrible. World in Conflict was also boring. very little managing of the few units you get and no base-building. I do not understand the appeal. Maybe the simplicity?
Strategy games I like:
C&C/Red Alert Games minus 4
Act of War
WarCraft 3 (though, the unit cap is way too small)
CoH
DoW Games
DoWII (though, I would prefer more base-building)
SoaSE (would have loved a story-driven campaign, also not a big fan of the huge zoomed-out feel)
Spellforce 1/2 (the RPG and RTS-sides are weak on their own, but work decent together)
Any others out there similar to these? I've been scouring Steam, but I'm sure there are more outside of that. Also, Steam's browse function blows. If I'm on page 5 of 20 checking out a game, the back button takes me to page 1. Lame.
