You could say that. Some places even hold a Hash Bash on this day where large amounts of people just get together and smoke (Ann Arbor, MI has an awesome Hash Bash that brings all kinds of artists and musicians and paraphernalia sellers and shit together for a festival).

Exactly. Though sometimes, as a pot smoker, its funny to watch all the "regular" people getting blasted and behaving like imbeciles.

One year I went to the Legislative building (there's always a big rally on 4:20 and they let you smoke on the grounds) and there were cops busting the people leaving with weed. I'm 100% in support of law enforcement and Police Officers, but that was just lame.

What's the lesson we learned today? Smoke it if you got it, cause if you leave with it, your ass is grass.

Why be excited about any 'holiday?' There's really nothing about St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Labor Day, Memorial Day, or the Fourth of July that you couldn't do on any other day. Alcohol, picnics, cookouts, fireworks, etc...you can have them whenever.

Why be excited about any 'holiday?' There's really nothing about St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Labor Day, Memorial Day, or the Fourth of July that you couldn't do on any other day. Alcohol, picnics, cookouts, fireworks, etc...you can have them whenever.

I don't get excited for those days either; but something in particular about 4/20 is exciting to people who get baked everyday. Not many people who drink heavily everyday get excited about the above listed "holidays."

If I were to smoke today, it'd be because I wanted to for fun, not because of 4/20. The day just seems so irrelevant to me is all. But, this is nothing more than me pondering, I ultimately don't care what people do, it's just sort-of amusing.

With that said, I'm going to go take a nap and skip class. Fuck hangovers. I knew I should have ate that brownie instead of drink for Finntroll last night.

I dunno I think part of it has to do with the fact that on any other day, we would probably be arrested for smoking in public. It also gives people a chance to see that not everyone who smokes is a degenerate....As I wrote that I had visions of the people that usually go out for 4:20...Probably not the best example.

So at the university where I work there is a building. You see, my college has a large agricultural department - huge. Aaaaand, you research..uh...plants. In particular...weeds.

How many times do you think the sign:

was stolen before they finally gave up? It's (to my knowledge) the only unlabeled building on the whole campus.

Maybe not in your experience, but down here in Florida people drink heavily every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Then when Cinco de Mayo and St. Patty's come around, they drink heavily again, as if they've never drank heavily before.

I don't think this is limited to Florida, either.

20 arrests here in one dorm yesterday. I'm not sure how many overall. Some of the horror stories I've been hearing are pretty terrible. One person tore out a smoke alarm.
